I'd just like a NEW album if thats OK....

With all this talk of The Chocolate Invasion and rereleases of old albums with extra tracks, anyone out there just wishing we'd get a completely new album sometime soon.I'm not gonna be purchasing the 7 CD set as its stuff I already have ,and his instrumental works were nice enough but in all honesty News and Xpectations arent on regular rotation for me.I remember the days when Prince released albums with new songs fairly regularly , but it seems those days are long gone , have we really not had a new studio album since ONA in May 2002 , seems ages ago ...wheres the prolific Prince of old gone??

J.W's are his life now, music is secondary.

Which is his right ..and for someone who is into religion as much as it seems or as folks claim, he sure does still have quite a bit of musical output.

Well, I would consider NEWS a studio album, but even if I didn't, and we considered the last album of new studio music to be in May, he still releases music with more regularity than most other artists out there.

Now, I'm not going into if I think his music is good/bad, sung/instrumental, all I'm saying is that to say that Prince doesn't regularly release new music is probably the last thing I would criticize.

2003(?) Chocolate Invasion (yes, old stuff, I know, but still a release, that with one exception, is music that has not seen CDs)

2003 - NEWS

2002 - One Nite Alone

2002 - One Nite Alone Live (3 CD)

2001 - The Rainbow Children

So, taking into account studio releases, instrumentals, and live things, we still have a total of 12 different CDs released by Prince in 2 years, not including singles like Supercute or When Will We Be Paid, or collaborations with other artists like Common or No Doubt. That's 11 if you don't count the club mix, 13 if you would count Rave In2.

Now once again, you may think they all suck, or they're all good, or whatever, but we are definitely getting A LOT of music.
