DO YOU AGREE THE EMANCIPATION ????

Which Prince do you prefer the one BEFORE or AFTER the emancipation? All my favourite songs were realised before the emancipation. I wish Prince would realise one album with 10 tracks (and his voice) or so and sound just to Prince... if I want 2 listen Jazz probably I will listen Miles not Prince. Is till don´t understand N.E.W.S

i didn't like the rainbow children at first but it grew in me.
one nite alone is a beautiful album.
xpectation and news i don't like and can't get into.
u have to admire an artist who isn't afraid to experiment and try other directions.
many people like xpectation and news.
i'm sure the same old prince is still there with plenty of great music still to come.
he just wanted a change in style.
lets see what happens next!

I think so far I'd say 'before'. I think the 86 - 87 Camille, Dream factory, Crystal ball, Sign o' the times, Jill jones, Madhouse, Black album, Lovesexy era has yet to of been beaten. Although New power soul and beyond is all I've been listening to recently.

a genius is an artist who can experiment and be great at whatever he chooses to do.
he just cannot please everyone all of the time.
i'm sure he is very pleased with himself.

It wasn't an offical release, but I think it would of been the greatest album of all time.

Side a:

Rebirth of the flesh (still unreleased, but it has leaked out on bootleg)
Housequake (rumore says the version here is slightly different to the Sign album version)
Strange relationship (As on Sign)
Feel U up (12 inch version)

Side b:

Shockadelica (12 inch version)
Good love (Long version as on the Bright lights Big city soundtrack)
If I was your girlfriend (as on Sign)
Rockhard in a funky place (as on The black album)

Concidering it was due to come out before Sign of the times was put together all the tracks would of been brand new. As an album it's brutal. Amazing stuff. That's why I chose this user name.

That's a sweet album (I wish the quality was better though. I have that Thunder ball CD and it sound very degraded.) There is a box set out called The Work volume II which has all the unreleased tracks in much better quality. One track I love from the era is "It's a wonderful day"

Housequake (rumore says the version here is slightly

If you haven't heard the Camille Housequake, go find a copy
The song is predominated by an almost heavy metal guitar chord, and towards the end Prince joins in singing with Camille excellent song.

Are U refering to the version that has a lot of that electric buzzing at the end?

The very end has a little bit of a buzz sound keeping a beat
the song is longer has a lot of guitar
more than halfway through the line "we gotta rock this mother" gets repeated by prince (normal voice)
then Prince and Camille duet the rest of the song

read the rule that's in boldface at the top of this forum. you cannot ask where to get unreleased stuff here, it's a big no-no and is strictly enforced.

I prefer the Prince of before the emancipation. I suppose mainly because I like his rock and funk music and he hasn't done much of that this side of Chaos And Disorder. There was some good funky tracks on Crystal Ball (Hide the Bone, PoomPoom and Da Bang spring to mind) but they were done during his WB days as well, so...

I think Baby Knows is the only real rocker done this side of WB, innit? biggrin

This is what I callthe "DARK AGES OF PRINCE MUSIC." The music was brilliant, but it was all best listened to in a dark room at nite. Plain and Simple
