It's one of the songs I use when pointing out how fantastic the Revolution, and the partnership of Wendy-Lisa-Prince was.

There's a whole thing about Wendy & Lisa's importance being overstated - which it is - but the majority of Prince fans would agree that 1985/6 was Prince's most expansive, creative, individual and interesting period - and Wendy & Lisa were an influence there.

Without them, and Eric, Susannah, Sheila, we wouldn't have gotten so much fantastic stuff.

I think that's why people are so hungry for out-takes and unreleased music from that period, because what we've heard has all been magical (All My Dreams, The Flesh, The Dream Factory).

Mountains was right there in the thick of it - funky, and different. Both "black" and "white".

it is mainly a Wendy/Lisa track, they used to play it live in their own concerts too.
Hel, it's 17 years that Prince omits it from the live tracklist, time to bring it back! Agree?

Mountains was the first single I ever bought as a fan, and when I heard the extended version I couldn't believe my ears! I must have played it 100 times that week. I remember having to buy another copy as my first one became worn out!

the whole parade album is an absolute masterpiece ! its only my opinion but i'm sure w and l played a bigger part than most peeps think i love anotherlover... i love the bit in the movie when christopher heads of to get mary and this track kicks in !!!

4 me Mountains is an interesting 1. I know its a great song but Ive never really taken 2 it. However, the more I listen 2 it the more it grows on me.

The 12" extended version especially gets me. It could go on forever and I'd be happy. One of his best.
