Waterfalls: ghost written? :I: have heard the rumor that TLC's Waterfalls was ghost written by Prince.
Prince has also repeatly refused 2 give permission 2 Weird Al Yankovic 2 parody any of his songs. Yet, Weird Al did a parody of Waterfalls. any thoughts on this? On 1 hand, he could have had no part in creating the song, thus making the rumor false; or he could have let it go, 2 perpuate the belief that he had no involvement in the song.

as much as i have always wished he had written this i suspect his ego is way too big to have hidden the fact for so long if he had done. Then again he has given them so many props over the years there may be a tiny grain of truth in it, doubt it though.

That's a flat out FALSE rumor. For the truth, look to ATL, not MN.

I always thought that the TLC song had been inspired, or lyrically simular to McCartney's Waterfall song.. the whole concept is in both songs...

I always felt that it had a "Come"-era feel to it, and was Prince-tinged ("Pop Life" and "SOTT" come to mind), but I think attributing the song to P without hard evidence is not credible. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016
