This being released because a large quantity of fans WANTED it. Though when I first heard about it, they were just planning on releasing all the discs seperately rather than a box-set (maybe they'll do both). Basically, members were constantly asking them if they could put all the previous years music onto 'proper' CDs, and make them available through the retail section for those that want them... so that's what they've done. . | |

If u havent heard some of the music offered and want to hear it = Buy it
If u have heard all of the music and don't want it on CD and with proper packaging = Don't buy it Props 2 Prince for listening 2 fans who wanted previous year's music 2 b made available. We all know how disinterested he becomes in previous projects/music. For some fans this will not b 4 them as they already have it. He cannot please all of the ppl all of the time. Thats impossible. Whatever he does in some ppls eyes, especially on here, he is damned if he does and damned if he doesnt. | |

Well, while we're moaning...
I assume from the above that this is to be available only to NPGMC members, and seeing as all NPGMC members are presumably dedicated fans, you probably already have most of the stuff, which makes it sort of pointless for most of you. The main objective is probably to extract maximum $$$. I am not (and have no intention of becoming) a member of NPGMC  , so I won't be able to get any of this  . I'd like to, as I don't have any of them, but there you go. I try to buy his music, but hey, if I have to join his cult to get it then he can keep it. Sad really.

Joining the NPGMC does not mean you are the only one to get this stuff. Prince could change his mind any time and sell to the public just like he did with NEWS and ONA DVD. And some of you had to pay for shipping when I got this in a store for the same price w/o shipping 1 week later.
Most of his dedicated fans ( not fams) do have this stuff. And THE WAR on cd...please- I had this delivered on cassette. Then I got it from napster and had it on cd. How many time do you really think I pull this out and listen to it...not much. Put out some soundboard live shows and remind us what you were all about at the top of your career. "

Yes, I guess I am fairly dedicated. I would quite happily spend a fortune on Prince stuff, but only if I can buy it in the public domain. Yeah, maybe I will join the club   NOT!
I almost, almost joined last year to get the ONA cd, but with just 2 weeks of membership left, I didn't think it was worth it. I'm glad now that I didn't. I still haven't heard ONA but at least my principles are still intact and I can hold my head up high (whilst sobbing uncontrollably). I almost succumbed this year too, but after a brief exchange of emails with the club... Well, suffice to say I was so incensed I was going to post a new thread here entitled : NPGMC sucks the sweat off a dead mans' balls. But, there's no need. You already know how it goes... Everybody does not have to fall in line behind Prince at every turn... Prince knows what he is releasing and not releasing. Prince can choose not too choose and people can choose to state what they feel. Prince does not need worshippers and bootlickers. The honesty helps people to see what is good or bad... Prince fan reactions have made alot of things known to Prince and people who work for the NPG. They don't mind the freedom of expression. In fact they welcome it. The whole U TEll US philosophy is based on it. So the people can complain at will. It's alright. Nobody has to Shhh...  themself... Let the truth flow... People have feelings to express. If we all stood in line behind Prince we would all fall like dominoes in a second. There are lots of clouds in the sky and some make rain and some part to let the sun shine in and some just float by, but not always at the same time. Clouds do many things, as nature intends them too. No you can't lasso the moon, tame the sea, stop the rain or stop the ablitity of human beings to think and express for themselfs...  | |

If everything goes normal, I will outlive Prince (he is some 14 years older than I am). This means that after he is gone, we'll have 'new' music released every year for years to keep his legacy alive, and we will not be depending on the weird choices this man makes in the name of his bank-account. I can see myself jamming to unreleased Prince-stuff when I'm 65... | |
