I think it would give him a jolt of energy and inspiration, but a hit? Wendy and Lisa haven't exactly been spittin' out the hits on their own. The main thing they'd bring to the table is a newfound attention about getting back together with his old bandmates and the interviews/press that would follow.

The music would have to stand on it's own. He's had hits with them and hits without them. They've had no huge hits without him so maybe the question is "would Prince save Wendy and Lisa? or even "would Wendy and Lisa and Prince save each other?"

JHolt of energy and inspiration...Prince has his own and he has been energized with his own recent projects..he doesnt need them for any of that.Plus I dont see Wendy and Lisa doing anything so special in leaps and bounds..sure Prince did a lot of hit n miss but he was always doing someting new etc...Wendy n Lisa are like friggin valium alla time. If anything Prince neds ot lend they ass a hand and spurt something new or inspiration to them. Why is this thread still in existence?

Prince has had energized recent projects? You don't mean the sleep inducing One Night Alone, Xpectation or NEWS projects do you?? Wendy and Lisa aren't on valium they can actually just play all kinds of music besides the paint by number stuff Prince seems to be releasing over and over. They may not be your taste in music but they hardly need any inspiration from the Bible beating Prince. nod

Wendy and Lisa did not make Prince who he was/is in the first place.

Actually I want to disagree with that. I think Prince, Wendy and Lisa made each other. SOTT was the album coming off of their collaboration together and I think it that is why it was still such a well structured Album. After that things started going down hill. Prince's music was getting more and more "Obsure" compared to what was coming out in the Revolution years. I think they needed each other to make the music. They worked well like all colborative groups do. And what I think happend was that ego's we getting bigger and bigger and since Prince doesn't really like being told what to do with his music he let them go because they were increasingly getting more and more push as to what they felt the music should sound like and what direction sould be taken. Face it the day the Revolution broke up was the begining of the end to Princes most popular era. if they were to get togher again today I think could make one or 2 truly great albums again but it would not last.

If this doesn't make a whole lot of sense i appologize since i have been up for 36 hour with no sleep yet.

Wrong...Prince had th e songs already--taught Wendy and Lisa them..they embellished them and did their thing with them..they left ..he rerased their input..and what was released was what Prince did himself and would have done himself..as vcan be told by listening to Dream Fact versions of SOTT songs...and SOTT is and was heralded as his best still to this date by 90% of fans and critics etc

After that things started going down hill.

You mean like Lovesexy, Gold, Symbol, D&P commercially, Lovesexy tour, SOTT film and tour etc? Downhill like that..because if one means musically, he became lackluster a long time after they were gone anyways..and if they would have satill hung around ten years after, hell; yeah..they'd all fal into the ho hum pit..come on now..W&L are not gods...Prince is lol

Ah c'mon Rdhull, as I've told you countless times, that's not being defensive it's just representing the other side of the coin you don't want to see. To me, the Girl Bros album as a whole was beyond powerful and still destroys me. They painted a lot of emotion in that album that touched on the death of their brother and the pain is still real today. I loved the Rainbow Children when I first heard it and still love it musically today. And the Everlasting Now is funky as shit and the overall message didn't feel like I was sitting in Kingdom Hall like some of the rest of the album makes me feel. You need to understand that powerful doesn't just mean balls to the wall, it can also mean the elegance of a complex chord structure. So while you sit in the Endorphinemachine I'll be sitting here with a bowl full of cherries having an equal powerful expierence as you. And you always like to make is seem like I'm not a Prince fan which is very comical considering I've been a fan since 1979 and have as much knowledge of Prince as you do, while maybe a little more because I can see both sides, I guess you can I was willing to do the work. nod

They may not be your taste in music but they hardly need any inspiration from the Bible beating Prince. nod

now here YOU go..Im sorry Wendy and Lisa aint had NOTHING half as powerful as anyting on Gold..on Symbol..on SOTT...on TRC..hgell NEWS etc is Wendy n Lisa quiet music any ol ways so stop it...his most recent output has been leaps n bounds beyond what Wendy and Lisa have done..come on now...com on now..stop the madness.

Yeah but powerful to YOU. I might have taken you more seriously if you hadn't got all weepy over Maxwell singing a woman's anthem. hmmm I'll let you get back to your pom pom's and back to your place on top of the pyramid with the other Prince Cheerleaders. wave

Oh come on..now your getting all defensive bringing up Maxwell post that I made in public etc...Im not daying they never did anyting powerful, I said not as powerful. Thats my opinion and I would like to se who disagrees that they made something like the so called all might Endorphinmachine, Dolphin, Chaos material etc etc etc...come on now.

by the way..you do realize you are posting on a Prince based website dontcha now? evillol muahahahahaa

And you always like to make is seem like I'm not a Prince fan which is very comical considering I've been a fan since 1979 and have as much knowledge of Prince as you do, while maybe a little more because I can see both sides, I guess you can I was willing to do the work. nod

Oh Thumper. You so silly. I never said I hated W & L either..now dont be hypocritical...

but u called Prince a bible thumper and have the audacity to have EN as your screen name etc...selective thumping etc? Or is EN more universal to you?..regardless. Hypocritical ledge you are on..careful there, a wind might make you fall. So Wenmdy n Lisa is powerful to you eh...but yet you dis those who like Prince releases such as Expect, ONA etc..maybe those are powerful to people...thats why I said oh thats sleep inducing and Wendy n Lisa havent been for their whole career? Seems lie you can dish it out but cant take it...you havent done the work...you been slacking off getting paid. Where Bambi at?

Whatever. But a real live string section with gorgeous arrangements by W&L wouldn't go astray. If it ever happened it would be very welcome by me.

See now you just making stuff up, where did I say you hated Wendy and Lisa?? lol No wonder this debate is still going you read what you want to read. Audacity? lol If you actually listen to Everlasting Now where is the bible thumping?? The first verse is about his name change and when he stopped being Prince, the second verse is about Sly Stone. Hmmm...unless Prince looks at Sly as God or There's a Riot going on as the Bible I don't hear any thumping. There's no theocratic order talk now is there?? There's no talk of leave my brother's and sister's in the sea. Just loving God. Something that Prince has always brought to my life but now it's so JW based. So I'm really not doing the balancing on the hypocritical ledge that you refer to now am I? And saying that I feel that some Prince music to me is sleep inducing, how is that "dissing those who like Prince releases"? I have all the same releases you do and I like some and some others I listened to once and never went back. I shouldn't say that though, it may offend you. lol That is purely my opinion and I'm sticking to it. And I can take as much as I can dish as long as it's a good debate but if the last part of your post is any indication of where this debate is going I'm checking the expiration date TONIGHT! I'm not sure where Bambi is, but I do know what time it is. bored

well your "bible thumpin" comment seemed as if you had problems with his religious content but I see you mean his JW content..which is understandable but nevertheless TRC is supposed to be drenched in JW context that taking the EN name from said album looks hypoicritcal no matter how u slice it...come on now...it isnt like a far reach assessment

No fair repeating your last post lol It just gets under your skin that someone doesn't back down to one of your rants. And I see Wendy and Lisa being dissed all the time on the Org and I don't always come running, just when the comment is beyond incorrect or flat out ignorant. It is fun just getting you all worked up, all the while listening to the Rainbow Children and Girl Bros on random play.
