Who says he needs saving? He's just an artist that is growing, changing, experimenting, etc. Some people like where he's been and is headed. Other's don't. Whatever the case, it does not mean he needs saving.

Peace!

Prince does not care about album failures. What's a failure to others is a success to him. Perhaps, he gauges his success on selling only five albums. We don't know, do we?

Rainbow Children was a flop in commercial terms- but do you honestly believe that album was a flop to Prince? I know he considered that one a great success.

What that guy said!!! Plain and Simple.

Wendy and Lisa were cool but that was literally only 1/8 of Prince's career that they were around. What do you people think that when the Revolution went away so did Prince's ability to make good music? I'm happy to tell u that the Revolution did contribute to 4 great LPs, but Prince has put out 20 albums (some 3-disc) since his dismissal of the group. It is my belief that 80% of that music is classic in most of our books

regardless of how i, you or we feel about prince's directions in sound and career, the fact that he is able to do what HE wants to do is a success.

I saw W&L recently on tv saying: "Prince was at his artistic high in the 80s and got even better since". Or something like that. I loved them for it.

Is that an anwser to your question?

I think it would give him a jolt of energy and inspiration, but a hit? Wendy and Lisa haven't exactly been spittin' out the hits on their own. The main thing they'd bring to the table is a newfound attention about getting back together with his old bandmates and the interviews/press that would follow.

The music would have to stand on it's own. He's had hits with them and hits without them. They've had no huge hits without him so maybe the question is "would Prince save Wendy and Lisa? or even "would Wendy and Lisa and Prince save each other?"
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

JHolt of energy and inspiration...Prince has his own and he has been energized with his own recent projects..he doesnt need them for any of that.Plus I dont see Wendy and Lisa doing anything so special in leaps and bounds..sure Prince did a lot of hit n miss but he was always doing someting new etc...Wendy n Lisa are like friggin valium alla time. If anything Prince neds ot lend they ass a hand and spurt something new or inspiration to them. Why is this thread still in existence?

what do you mean by "save". make him have a hit, make him a non-JW? make him start cussing agin?
I don't get the question.

He doesn't need to be "saved", they're doing their own thing, he's doing his own thing, if they get together, cool. But give the "prince needs W&L" thing a rest, even they would disagree with you.

sigh
neither one needs each other. they're doing just fine without him, as he's doing without them.

now, please, let this thread/satement/agrument die already. Some probably won't believe this, but the "heaven sent angles" themselves don't give themelves as much importance as all these "prince needs them" threads/satements do.
