Ok, screwed up. There are also Sac of Vic tapes for sale. I didn't think either of these were formally released on VHS. I thought the Undertaker was a laserdisc, and aside from the shoddy VHS NPGMC release of the poor quality dubbed tape for $20 US, SofV was never released. "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Ok, so are VHS tapes like DVDs, in that they will only play in European players?

If so, that sucks, No, they're (kind of) the opposite. You'll generally be able to play American VHS tapes in a European player. I have some that I bought in the US (and others that I recorded from US TV using an American recorder) which play no problem on my European player. I even have some that I recorded using the long play feature which play fine on a European player, but super long play didn't work. I think (although cannot confirm this as I haven't tried it) the opposite is not possible i.e. you can't play European recorded VHS on an American player. As for DVD's you can play any dvd of equal or higher region number, as well as region 0 (zero). http://www.hometheaterinfo.com/dvd3.htm for more info. Which means the lucky Americans and Canadians can play ANY dvd on their players. Of course, what with all the available hacks and the new region-free (region 0) players, so can the rest of us! It's not true and even the supplied link doesn't suggest it to be. If a DVD is region 2, then it won't play on an un-modded region 1 player. RIP | |
