PrintableThe Nude Tour was the first time I saw Prince live. I was very disappointed because I was looking for something to rival SOTT and Lovesexy tours which I had been watching religously for the previous two years.
I went back to Wembley a few days later and because my expectations weren't so high I enjoyed the show. The reviews in the UK press were mixed and I remember one reviewer saying that the first 20 minutes were the greatest part of a live show he'd ever seen and it went downhill from there. I've got the video of the La Coruna show and I must admit the first segment is fantastic, with that endless funky cowbell mixed into The Future, 1999 and Housequake. | |

Mmmm...I got a confession.
I witnessed all 15 of the London dates. I was 18 years old and my first Prince concerts. Kinda got carried away and bought a ticket for every night... Wendy & Lisa also played around the same time in London for 2 nights. Only saw one of those shows cos one night clashed with Mr Nelson. -----------------------------------------------

I was working in the hotel in London where the tour stayed and got to go backstage at the wembley gigs, it was phenomenal, on one of the nights prince fell over on stage as he ran to play the piano upside down, but managed to turn it into the splits and slid up, the mother of all cool, i also managed to get a copy of the nude tour on video, it is one of my treasured possessions, nekkid edit [This message was edited Sat Oct 11 18:19:01 PDT 2003 by PERSIA] | |
