When was the last time you heard Prince on the radio? I really can't remember...

Most radio stations have request shows, so I think we should all make a concerted effort to organise ourselves and together we should be able to get at least one extra play for Prince somewhere in the world, daily.

So that this doesn't come across as some kind of payola operation, when you have emailed your request, post details here of:

The radio station;
The show;
The song requested.

Other members should avoid making requests to the same shows for at least seven days, so that it doesn't appear like a "Street Team" is in operation. Check this thread before making requests.

I really think this could work.

its a really good idea, but radio is ran by a playlisting feature, and requests wont put him on the playlist, hell he could get 100 requests for a song and it'll get played yeah, but as for Rotation?.. most likely no, why?.. radio seems to believe that prince is washed up, even tho he isnt.

We could still try though, couldn't we? Even one play a day on a request show somewhere in the world is better than nothing, isn't it?

i was in paris 4 new year celebrations last year.

You wanna know something weird? The local mix station here has actually been playing a lot of Prince lately. Granted it's all 80's stuff but still. They used to not play Prince at all. Now I can count on it at least once a day, sometimes more. You don't think Universal has anything to do with it do you?

This is what I was talking about. Prince's old music can easily be found on certain radio formats. Unfortunately, there isn't likely to be any new Prince music in a radio rotation unless somebody is paying a lot of money for it.
