I had a friend who was a Prince freak and swore his local video store had a "nasty" version of Purple Rain. I have to wonder if it was a porno with a similar title like "Purple Vein"?

Deja - correct me if Im wrong, but back in the old Org days, Im SURE I remember one orger posting a thread about how a good friend of his worked 4 some studio at one time, taking care of old work prints etc of films, and how he had told him about how he had found an old work print of P.R. The guy supposedly saw it and begged Him 2 copy it, and he said he would, but never got around 2 it, and then left (or lost) his job.
Sorry the details are pretty hazy, but that's all I remember - Im 99% positive it was a thread placed here back n the day - anyone remember this? | |

Thanks, G. The Turn it Up book confirms what RDHull posted: Nov 1 1983-Early 1984:Purple Rain FILM WORKPRINT This is an early edit of the Purple Rain film. Most of the sound effects and background music have not been added yet. It includes some very brief footage that was cut from the released version of the film(105 mins) Hope that helps.. | |

Yes..my copy is of very bad quality--with just those extra scenes etc..it also shows Prince "terroroizing" Apollonia and Morris more than what was shown ..before he kicked Morris into the trash can etc...and the race between him and the train etc... ...and ofcourse you can see some bits and pieces of unused scenes in the trailer, which is on the dvd. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
