Clean version of D&P?

Just picked up a copy of Diamonds and Pearls. On the back cover the title Gett Off is blacked out and that track isn't on the CD. Also printing on the CD itself is dark brown as opposed 2 beige. Anyone know anything about this CD? confuse

maybe it's a censored version because of the heavy lyrics in the song? where was it manufactured? any catalogue-number or so? maybe you can check out aprilsnow's site http://users.pandora.be/a...colref.htm there you can get a lot of information on certain releases.

It's the promo version, sent to radio stations. There is no parental warning on the outside either.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Is it rare?

Rioub

It might be the Singapore version. Gett Off was banned there, and in Singapore banned doesn't just mean no airplay, it means not allowed to exist! D&P was released there with Gett Off missing.

I checked my promo version of D&P, and Gett Off is on it. The cuss words are just cut out.

Maybe yours is a Singapore CD as Rioub stated, probably is kind of rare.

Mmmm the plot thickens!
Still don't know what I've got but thanx.
More info- the catalogue number on the spine is 25045-2 and in the booklet the lyrics 2 Gett Off are replaced by a photo of Prince. Does THAT help at all?

Maybe he's already started re-recording all his Warners albums like he threatened too! He could be breaking into record stores in the middle of the night to replace the potty-mouth recordings with his new versions!
