If I heard anything at anytime I would be a fan..this is destiny.. It is written in some ethereal book somewhere where man has never been.

I was born/meant to be a fan of Prince music. This isn't just chance.

yes Definitely!

One, because he's sexy as all hell! horny
Two, because I do like some of his newer ventures - The Rainbow children was good to me despite popular opinion hrmph

But, mostly because even though his music may change his lyrical content remains thought provoking and creative, which is also most of the reason why I get into him.

I think if I heard any other artist come out with Rainbow Children or Rave or even NPS, my funk radar would be screaming...shit like that isn't good 'cause it's Prince. It's good to me 'cause it's a funky oasis in a souless desert.

Ok, maybe not NPS.

If I (somehow) managed to catch him at NEWS, I reckon I would've still dug him considering my various excursion into acid jazz and jazz funk...to me the genres are intricate enough to allow for newly descovered nuances even 30 years after Head Hunters, and NEWS has a distinctly unique Prince-like quality - something I can only say after compairing to Xenophobia and some Madhouse stuff.

Anyway, I got into P at Gett Off.

no, i don't think i'd like him if i'd discovered him in the last five years.Don't get me wrong, I like TRC a bit but nothing since has interested me.

Thinking back, i'd say the Truth is his most recent interesting product, but the 90's onwards have been a bit of a barren wasteland for Prince IMO.Sprinkled with occasional genius only.

I don't know if I would be a fan, but I'm absolutely sure that I like very much all these songs and I'd consider the author a good musician.

I would have heard one of his older songs on the radio and researched him. I like more of his newer stuff than his stuff from the 80s anyway. So, I think I would have been a fan even if I hadn't heard the oldies. Plus, I'm very impressed that he writes, produces, and composes almost all of his music. How many other artists can be credited with being that talented? Not many, I assure you.
