all of a sudden, things are in place and on time: NEWS was in stores on time, the DVD was in stores on time, i ordered something from NPGMC and i got it, he's shooting a music video next week, a rumoured deal with Universal resulting in a rumoured album coming out on Universal and now a sold out Aussie tour.

What happened is Prince finally stopped "talking" about being free and started acting like it.

You never hear someone like Ani DiFranco "talk" about being free, she IS free, and everything she does as far as her art is concerned is a testament to that freedom.

I think Prince finally realized it himself. In other words, stop worrying about how someone might bootleg your material and having to have 100,000 PRE-orders before releasing something and be like Nike and JUST DO IT! You're free, act like it! I'm glad he finally got that message.

Just because Prince put two silly items such as the DVD and NEWS out doesnt mean he is getting himself together.. thats crazy, there is nothing to these to items..

My guess would be that Prince is once again allowing a competent music organization to take care of his stuff, in this case now, Universal.

And, Universal seems to really respect his wishes, even though I'm sure the money they make is not worth the hassle of dealing with someone like him.

I'm guessing Universal wants something, and is willing to do whatever to get it. Or maybe a CEO just likes Prince and wants him to get his shit straight.

Prince has never stopped being a superstar. He may not sell the records he used to, but neither is anyone else except Eminem. He still can't go out without papparzzi hounding him, and a ton of people in the biz have never lost respect for him. He is easily the most talented musician alive today, bar none. Its the media and the corperations who love comebacks. Just look at what they did to Santana a few years back. How many Grammy's did he win for that Supernatural crap??

Not only did prince fans complain about the crap he released on the DVD, but everyone else did as well. I personally didnt care too much, I like the DVD, but I enjoy collecting his stuff.. but regardless, it should have been for members, and the same with the NEWS album.. it was really a rediculous thing to do was release these two items...

Everyday he shows us the "club" meaningless, as well as the "donation" he requested to enter his poor updated site with no context whatsoever...
