Purple Rain anniversary DVD

I just got the collectors gift box for Scarface. It is for the anniversary. It is an excellent treatment and it makes me wish Purple Rain could do done so well. THe marketing possiblities are endless. Scarface comes in a faux leather gift box with a red satin tray for the disc inside. Eight lobby cards and a money clip with the slogan on it are inside as well.

Some vivid purple packaging with the floral pattern theme would be great for a new remastered widescreen treatment of Purple Rain. Add some deleted scenes - like some of the music that didnt make it - and perhaps the When Doves Cry video (a classic). I have sen some lobby cards for the film. That would be nice. Line the box with purple satin like Sacrface - make it pretty. Maybe a Prince guitar pick which would be a very inexpensive trinket like the money clip in Scarface.

Oh well, call me a dreamer. I think it would be nice and I bet it would sell. WHat can I say - I am a marketing guy at heart.

I'd like 2 see a box set of Purple Rain!. Warners could release a DVD with deleted scenes, outtakes, interviews, trailer(s) and also a CD with music from the film that isn't on the soundtrack CD. For example, the instrumental music, songs by Appollina 6 & The Time in the film and B-sides to the songs which were released as singles.

That would b cool and excellent packaging aswell.

"Scarface" is a masterpiece. "Purple Rain" is a stumble up from an extended rock video directed by a competent film student. Great tits though.

Glaringly obvious differences of note:

Scarface, well-made film, good acting, cited by many as a classic.

Purple Rain, well made-film, but bad acting, dated badly, not cited as a classic.

I'd still buy it tho - but I aint holding my breath: and neither should u Im sorry 2 say.
