By startling coincidence, I still own a sweat drop borne from Levi's greasy forehead on the London 88 date.
It tore through the air like a dying comet, burning a pathway into my open mouth. I kept it there all the way home, not uttering a solitary word.
My inventor friend Pat McGroin's Incredible Fonk Detector incredibly detected fonk still emanating from the secretion.
I'll sample the crackle the machine gave and record it onto CD for you.

No need to thank me.

The Line is a 'prince moment' for me - I remember very clearly the effect that song had on me the first time I heard it.

It's almost a House track - listen to Jesse Saunders or Blake Baxter.

Escape and Scarlet Pussy are two of my all time fav. 12" mixes, and Escape is one of my top 10 Prince tracks, if any track embodies the 'Lovesexy feeling' for me, that is the track.

Even though there were obviously other songs recorded the
same year as Lovesexy, the album itself was pretty much
concieved and recorded in one go. So there aren't any real
'outtakes' from the 'Lovesexy' period. The only track that
didn't make the final album from those sessions was 'The Line'
(and an alternate version of the title track with completely
different music, but the same lyrics).

The Black album was from the year before, and doesn't really
have anything in common with Lovesexy. It's more closely
related to Sign O' The Times. All the tracks that were recorded
in '88 after Lovesexy were part of other projects like the
original 'Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic', 'Batman' and 'Graffiti
Bridge', and couldn't really be considered part of the 'Lovesexy'
era.

Don't forget the early, slightly different versions of "I Wish U Heaven" and "Positivity", and the "Dance On" instrumental version...

That's a 'Batman' era outtake.
