Open would be awesome (if you could take your eyes off the stage for a minute to look up at the stars... which I doubt anyone will!)... but just a little cold perhaps?

Although the cool night air might encourage people to shake their booty a little more than they would otherwise!

the roof needs to be closed, it would stuff up all the accoustics in there, the sound is fantastic with the roof closed, opening it would kill the sound.

Yep, must admit that that was my first thought actually... and regarding my previous post, even the romance of the stars does not compare with the whole reason of actually being there, which is of course: THE SOUND.

The roof has been closed at every concert I've attended there, including Prince in 1992. I don't expect it would be any different this time round.

Does anybody remember the rumour that Prince wanted to play on the roof of the stadium? The number of rumours circulating from his last Melbourne tour was ludicrous!

Off the top of my head...

That he went motorcycling in the Dandenongs. That he asked Rex Hunt to go fishing but Rex turned him down. That he was interested in buying the Metro nightclub and turning it into a Glam Slam. That he booked out Platinum(?) studio for recording.

There was also the rumour that Prince was filming a movie called 'The Dawn' in South Australia. Oh, and the rumour that Prince liked Melbourne so much he would tour again the following year cry

The studio one is quite likely to be true. The metro one probaby arose because he visited the club. That rumour got to the point that somebody claimed to be working out the details and looking for staff. But that fellow went silent before long. hmmm

So there's a heap-load of idle gossip for you!

That was the plan.
1993 there was going to be:

Act 1 tour - US
Act 2 tour - Europe
Act 3 tour - Australia & Japan

Of course everyone knows Act 1 & 2 happened, and as far as I know, Act 3 fell through because...

...Wait 4 it...

...NOT ENOUGH MONEY WAS BEING OFFERED!

But that doesn't sound like Prince at all wink

Not like him at all! It's only a coincidence that the Australian dollar is strong at the moment... nod
