prince is inconsistent prince said that after this tour he will never again play hits.
thats crap,he can never get out of purple rain shadow. why is he lying. he moved in to diffrent direction with expectations and news,and suddenly he is doin' hit and run again. | |

He should record new material with or without this new band and tour with it... In 1994/1995 he did some of the best shows of his career without any old hits (this was a period when it was good being a Prince-fan), just songs he did with his then current line-up of players... and it worked, even though the mainstream/casual "only Purple Rain" knowing people neglected it, but fuck them... If he could change the arrangements of his hits in a way that keeps them fresh and interesting over the years, I'd be disappointed in his announcement to retire his moldie oldies...but the fact is, he hasn't done a whole lot in this regard, and the few new arrangements he's put together for live performance have even gotten stale. I'm all for him putting some of the overplayed hits back on the shelves for a while, but we all know he'll come back to them sooner than later. | |

Exactly... It would be interesting to hear him do some old "lost gems" in different arrangements like "In Love" or "Just As Long As We're Together" or "It's Gonna Be Lonely" or "Do It All Night", this list is endless since he's got more than enough rarely played old material to fill an entire show with... It was quite interesting to hear him do a great different take on "Gotta Broken Heart Again" last year during the ONA Tour... Neversin. O(+>NIИ<+)O
