oh, man. i remember the day. went to best buy early that tues. morning before school, just to get my hands on the GOLD EXPERIENCE before class.
the sound q. blew me away -i been listening 2 very rough bootlegs of some of those trax all summer long, and when the boom kicked in on p control, and i heard it commin' ouuta my speakers at home, i just about wet my pants. so many great songs, an unmatched level of energy and creativity, this CD was -still is- the bomb.

A great album. My only complaint is that Endorphinmachine should have been the first track. P Control would have worked better later in the album.

I think it's a good album, but the unreleased '94 version - with Days Of Wild, Acknowledge Me and Ripopgodazippa - was better and IS The Gold Experience to me. I hate what he did to Endorphinmachine. It's completely ruined. And Shhh! and We March really aren't worthy of the album. biggrin

I totally agree on Endorphinemachine, he ruined it with that stupid cowbell and adding keyboards. And Days of Wild and Ripopgodazippa should have been on there NO DOUBT.

Yes and no. I still think Shhh! is 1 of the best songs on the album IMO.

Shy is the best. Funky, catchy & slightly disturbing. It's also got that cracking hands in the air ending with 'Gold'.

What was the crack with this 94 boot?

3 CD track list

Your choice of tracks is excellent, but I don't quite follow the reasoning behind the order of songs. Seems like a mess to me.

I think keeping the Come and Gold albums as complimentary CDs - as envisioned by Prince in early '94, where the NPG Operator advertices Come for continuing the Interactive experience - is preferable, and then a third CD could consist of the other tracks from that period. biggrin

Believe me the tracks flow very well in this order. this
is the tracklist to a CD I made a while back and it includes a
lot of mixing and segues, and almost all the tracks are different
in some way to the released versions.

Come/Endorphin Machine/Space all segue together (as they
did on one of Prince's original sequences for the album). Mad/
Rock & Roll Is Alive/Shhh segue together. Peach/Chaos &
Disorder segue together and Now/Face Down is just an
extended version of Now using the acapella version of Face
Down over the Now beat. There are also several NPG Operator
segues too thoughout the album.

What, home made segueing? biggrin

Well, if you like it like that, that's cool. I'm just a silly sucker for original album configurations, is all. I get my kicks from making tapes of those. I wish there were more bootlegs of original album configurations , but bootleggers has this weird thing with splitting everything up over several bootlegs, so you have to buy several to get that one album you want. It's a friggin' bother, but I suppose they do it to sell more CDs.
The only complete original album configurations currently out there - to my knowledge - is Dream Factory vol.3, The Undertaker, Emancipation and MC Flash. That's not a lot. sigh

Oh yeah, I've done that too smile
One of the first things I did when I got a CD burner was create
the original sequences for a lot of Prince's albums. And you're
right, most of them you have to assemble yourself out of bits
spread across several boots. After I'd done them all, I ended
up making my own 'what if?' kinda albums... great fun smile
