Why has no-one mentioned that song yet!? 'Cuz Alicia does it better!! The vomitrocious, akashic...simply, utterly vomitrocious. I hope Akashic was being sarcastic...Prince's version KILLS Miss Key's ATTEMPT. After all, he did write it.

I haven't even heard Keys version, but there is just no way it tops the original. P's version of that number is just amazing. All the gals say hoe if your man's giving up the gold. All the fellas say ruff if you're only giving up the bone.

The lovesexy show in Pittsburg. He did a lot of great cover tunes, and it was just smokin. Wish I'd have been there. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Old concert--I think the Purple Rain tour--he had his shirt off (well, that narrows it down, right?) and did 'God' on piano, then went into the bit with special effects..."who screamed?!!"..."was it you?!??"
Anyway, the simple piano playing was awesome and mesmerized everybody. Rise up

JUST BEFORE THE CLOSING CREDITS OF "THE PRINCE OF PAISLEY PARK" HE IS PLAYING "THE LADDER" DURING A SOUND CHECK.

How Come You Don't Call Me.
Absolutely. Anyone who think's Alicia's version is better needs to step away from the crack pipe. (Although her version is decent).

Am I the only one that digs ONA studio? Am I? Am? I? If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Lovesexy tour! Man, he was going up & down scales, and playing all the classics. I also loved the audience participation. Holland was really into the man's music.
Also, the performance of An Honest Man at the beginning of UTCM. Damn, I thought I was gonna be the only one to mention that. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Definitely the studio version of the ONA song. That is a brilliant piece. Gorgeous subtleties. In a couple of hundred years historians may discover that Prince's lyrics were written by Christopher Marlowe.

There is a claim that prince didnt write this song at all, and it was written by that woman who collaborated with him circa Emancipation. She was interviewd on a BBC documentary in which she said she received no credit for it. I love the version he does of this during the celebration 2002.

There are a few moments on ONA, particularly the title track, Ure Gonnna C Me, A Case of U and definitely Avalanche. All these tracks are brilliantly performed, and perfect for the solo piano style.
