Erics work from the eighties is legendary. So many wonderful horn arrangements, however, I like Candy at the moment. I think Eric was for the Prince of the eighties, and while its great to see the likes of Shelia E and Eric play with Prince again, I like the line up of the NPG for the last tour. Candys sound adds something different.
Of course Maceo and Greg are hopefully dead certs to be in the line up. However One thing that both Eric and Najee bring to the line up is the ability to play the flute which Id like to hear more of in his work. I thought Empty room particularly sounded good with this in.

there might not even be a hornz secrtion
as there will be 3 keyboard players The MPLS sound is keyboard drenched, looks like he's really trying to get that sound back. sadly that doesn't include hornz 'Count on change' - PP moderator just said. Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now!

Candy Dulfer has become a highly proficient saxophone player and has definitely matured over the years. Nowadays she brims with a confidence that was previously absent and both her playing and improvisation are more assured, as evidenced on the ONA tour. . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Having said that, Eric would always be my choice as quintessential saxophone player for Prince.

For all his talent on his instrument of choice, I still bet Eric has never actually given anyone the horn.
Irony at its boldest. [This message was edited Sun Sep 28 10:09:20 PDT 2003 by Number23]
