Does anyone know about the song Prince wrote for Joni, "Emotional Pump"? I believe she turned it down cause it was "too weird", and it's never seen the light of day. Has anyone heard it/know anything about it? Also what is Prince's version of "A Case of U" like?

My favorite version of A Case of U by Prince is from the 83 First Avenue show.

any version that i have heard of Prince's he seems to start it at the second verse...shame really cos it is such a beautiful song...one of my all time favs.

Hissing Of Summer Lawns has some of the best album lyrics I have ever come across.

Being a big fan of this song I was hoping he would have sung the whole part especially where she sings 'O, Ca Na Da aaahhh!

I too love Prince's version - but it's not complete and this song deserved a complete version at least. Beautifully sung by both of them however.

I do understand why Prince sang the portion that he did however. It's about his father and it really confirms John Nelson's influence and impact on his son's life. It's perfect in my opinion - it captures perfectly the relationship... although he was deeply affected by his father, the closeness wasn't there.The mood also seems to portray bitterness.

Prince can be so wonderful when he's not busy planning new 'screw them' strategies on his fans.

when i heard the ona studio album version i honestly thought wow ! its my fave p cover , and i now love joni's blue album as well , so a big thank u to cuz neil and prince for a new artist for me 2 drool over joni mitchell.
