Well, it's not quite that easy.
You'd have to decide between 'Dream Factory' OR 'Crystal Ball' sessions as the Revolution split would make a HUGE difference. Yes I know some of the Dream Factory tracks ended up on Crystal Ball, but ONLY the ones that had little or no Revolution input. Personally I would have loved to see a 3CD set of Crystal Ball tracks have been released, but having seen the Sign O' The Times movie, I would definitely liked to have seen a few of the tracks re-recorded more in the style of the movie versions. Here's what i would have liked to have seen released... (all versions the same as on SOTT except where noted) side one: SIGN O’ THE TIMES PLAY IN THE SUNSHINE HOUSEQUAKE THE BALLAD OF DOROTHY PARKER (jazzy version, like on SOTT rehearsals) side two: STRANGE RELATIONSHIP STARFISH & COFFEE SLOW LOVE HOT THING ROCKHARD IN A FUNKY PLACE side three: CRYSTAL BALL (The Ball and Crystal Ball segued together into one long 15 min track) JOY IN REPETITION (with full intro) side four: U GOT THE LOOK (with 12" intro and ending) IF I WAS YOUR GIRLFRIEND (new version, more like live rendition) SOULPSYCHEDELICIDE (not the outtake, but a jazzy funky previously untitled instrumental) IT side five: BOB GEORGE (yes, it was recorded before SOTT was released) SHOCKADELICA (long version) I COULD NEVER TAKE THE PLACE OF YOUR MAN (new version, faster, more like live version) FOREVER IN MY LIFE side six: THE CROSS IT’S GONNA BE A BEAUTIFUL NIGHT (new version, faster, more like live version) ADORE | |
