Prince's Self-love! One of the funniest things about prince's lyrics is his constant placement or reference to himself in his songs. Well it's not always funny bur I get a kick out of hearing him drop his own name or description in a song. Here's a few off the top of my head, add yours too.
The first that pops into my mind, from Bob George: "Whats he do 4 a livin? manage rock stars? who? Prince! ain't that a bitch. that skinny muthafucka with a high voice!" "and left him for a REAL Prince from Arabia, now isn't that a shame..." Condition of the Heart "your little Prince wanna grind, grind grind..." Darling Nikki "this little Prince thinks alot about you" Temptation "She had the cutest ass he'd ever seen. But he did 2, they were meant 2 be" Girls & Boys...now u know he loves his ass! This probably should be in the Lyrics thread, but about a year ago either here or at AMP I read a good interpratation of the song: Cream is actually referring to his hit song writing, a hit pop song about writing a hit pop song disguised as a sexual metaphore. "Time for you to go to the wire" = get another song on the Radio etc. So yes it is about him, but in a whole different way.
