I wouldn't pay anything. I'll wait for him to come to my door. It could happen...I'm in Minnesota! smile

Back on topic, I wouldn't want to pay to meet him, paying to meet someone is a bit creepy.

Prince pimping himself out like this disgusts me.
But I'm sure his 'celebrity' ill will convince rich fools to part with their paper to participate in a disgustingly artificial situation manipulated and orchestrated by the artist and his minions.
This is not a magical moment where fan meets star, this is Prince whoring his personality and fame for the yankee dollar.

When I was much younger I probably would've paid just about any amount of money for an opportunity to meet Prince and have any sort of interaction with him.

Now that I'm older and have lived through more, both in terms of life in general and of being a Prince fan, I don't see him as some sort of object or museum exhibit (or deity) that I'd want to pay a fee for so as to be allowed to stand before him or "meet" him. Paying money for that sort of interaction with him - to me - now seems bizarre, and would totally take away any bit of meaningfulness or human-ness that I'd hope would be a facet of any interaction I'd ever have with him.

Someone on another thread here compared the whole idea of paying to meet him to prostitution. I agree with the basic essence of that comparison...imo, meeting him under circumstances such as that would reduce the dynamic to that of going to a prostitute: I pay him to "get off" on meeting someone I admire, and he performs his "job" of acting like he has any interest in speaking to me or like he cares one way or another that I'm even there, and the whole time I'm aware of that whole 'hi I'm a customer' dynamic. Just seems like a hollow experience and I'd choose not to have a meeting with him be based on that. If I ever meet him or speak to him, I'd rather it happen because, for whatever reason, he actually had an interest in or reason for speaking to me past me paying him to do so.

Maybe I'll never meet him, maybe one day I will. I'll leave it up to fate or destiny or whatever to decide. And if I ever do, it will be a more meaningful experience to me if no money had to exchange hands to make it happen.

However, I don't see the problem if someone has the cash, doesn't mind coughing up the $1000, and wants the one time thrill of seeing him up close. If Prince is willing to turn himself into a zoo exhibit for one night and there are people willing to take him up on it, seems like everybody's happy. Not hurting me any. smile

With all this Bitchin about ticket prices, I was wondering, how much would you pay for a meet and greet session with Prince? This is not for the people who live in MN and have access to the park. This question is for people who would probably never see him up close and personal. I would probably pay up to a grand, depending on what the "session" would entail. I know some of yall will think that I am crazy. But this is a person that I have admired for most of my life and who I will probably never meet any other way.

I would pay $1000 to meet him, but I don't want to be onstage looking at his back/ass. Like I said to J. Blackwell when he gave me a pair of sticks.."prince...who's prince?" nod

I would Pay $100-$500. I have always said that prince could pimp himself out in meet and greets in small gathering. People want a chance to talk with him and just get close to him. A lot of people want 2 go 2 paisely park. I have suggested that the park do mini celebrations. Wensday thur Saturdays with daily activities and nightly concerts with prince.. Everybody get an assigned day to meet and whatever. The celebrations could cost $100 a day.with the packages sold as a unit. These celebrations like gathering could happen monthly or bimonthly. Peace and B Wild.

You might think I'm Crazy, but last nite i paid $1000, 2 see the man, and i was hansomely rewarded. He spoke with us for 1 and a half hours, freely. Not only was that a pleasure, we got to dance with him and the NPG on stage 4 most of the concert. Prince then gave the best afterparty, and we got in free. All the money that we paid was given to charity. It was a win win situation 4 all involved.
Highly recommended.

Why should I have to pay to meet Prince? I'd pay to see him in concert, but I'd rather not put a price on just meeting and possibly having some Chai tea and scones with him.

If the guy comes to Holland (hope he does btw!) i'd pay him the 1000 dollars or euro's to meet him.

I, however, would ask good questions and post the results at the org. razz

Am I the only one here who gets irratated by the fams prancing around on stage during a concert? It looks so fucking shite. .

It's okay - no one need respond to my question. I'm getting used to being ignored around here.
