prince borrows sometime

prince sometimes borrows licks from other artists,here what i found.
mountains-(part where he screams ,
and girl voice it's the same as sly and the family stone"dance to the music"

the most beautiful girl-he borrowed those 4 chords structure from white snake's is this love

kiss-james brown lick


LAST DECEMBER have the same bass line as r'n'r is alive

xpetations have many simularitis with chic corea return to forever

ok man, but this is music. All music is similar. We can find more examples in Prince, and in all musicians around the world. It's impossible not to hear what others are doing, but it's not necessary to listen to a song so that they look like.

Prince's whole career has invovled "borrowing" from other artists

How about this one...

I heard "White Horse" the other day and somebody is definitely ripping somebody. It's a dead ringer for Erotic City, not sure who came first though. "If you wanna ride, don't ride the white horse..."

I never realized it, but play them back to back and you will see they're very similar grooves, amazingly similar... of course erotic city's better, but shit!

Geez.. that's the whole point about Prince's "genius". He's a skillfull amalgamation of nearly every style of American music. Of course he steals from elsewhere!!
