Has Prince SOLD OUT!??

This new world tour is sponsored by ClearChannel...
a huge multi-national company.

VIP packages have been announced for the Australian tour:
@ AU$392 for standard NPGMC treatment & a 3cd boxset we already have (assuming itis the ONALive set)

Another VIP package has also been rumored at $900 where u get 2 go onstage with Prince & meet him.

again, things which would usually occur 4 club members & ppl attending concerts.

ClearChannel & also Paul Dainty, the promoter...will both b getting a big cut of all this.

Why haven't NPGMC members been given first notice of ticket?
Why haven't they made an effort to offer NPGMC members priority seating & other concert benefits?

Could it b that Prince is giving in2 the root of all evil?
"never respected the root of all evil & he still don't 2 this day"

hmm im not so sure about that.

if a VIP package has been offered in a newspaper advertisement...with a fone number 2 call...& that message on the number has NO MENTION of npgmc what-so-ever...
then it has 2 make u wonder.
Prince relies on the NPGMC memberships a great deal...
& many aussie fans have been joining up 4 the last 3 years...
waiting 4 a tour...buying & supporting his music.

R these people who have been "Willing 2 do the Work" going 2 get no favor in return??

of course i am speculating here... who knows!
perhaps there will b news on npgmc 2moro of member's priority seating at a reasonable price... ($150au as the A*reserve seats are)
but if NPGMC members, who have been right by P's side since the music club opened its online doors have 2 pay $392per ticket...
i feel it is quite simply the corporate machine at work & also Prince,ClearChannel & Paul Dainty...taking advantage of our hunger 2 see a Prince tour down here.

will i pay $392 per ticket?

well, perhaps in melbourne... but my plans 2 head 2 sydney may well b dashed ...since it will b hard 2 make ends meet on that.
like drinking chapagne on a beer budget.

Please Prince...say it ain't so!
Please Prince...do the right thing by NPGMC members!

$392??? eyepop

That's well out of order. But you know, I have always maintained that the $100 club last year was a better deal for us than him.

$900 to meet him? Oh come one! I know Prince has been more accessible to us in recent years than ever but I really don't see him doing this!! No way!!!

GENE $IMMONS of KISS was on a speaking tour last year, we could meet him and shake his hand 4 $200. I didn't pay of course, but that's a $teal compared 2 $900 (if that's indeed true)

Ronny.

"has Prince SOULED out?"...I'm not sure yet.

Dont get it twisted - Joshy is talking in wallabee (Australian) dollars which are worth less than USD.

It sounds like a mix up. Lasy year often the promoters werent aware of the special NPGMC arrangments,

Those prices are probably 4 non members, its probably much cheaper for members. Dont worry.
Wait for an official statement before cacking ur pants.

However, it would be sick and callous if you had to pay all that money to meet him. Knowing him from concerts and being so accessible I doubt this is true.

I think everybody is getting a little crazy and overreacting to a very SMALL amount of information. We don't know anything for sure yet about NPGMC prices. There is no way they will be $300+...shit you all must be crazy.

nuts

Get real - let him make a dollar or two

Regardless of the odd fault - the principles behind the NPGMC and what we got last year when he toured - still make it far better than other artists and that also includes Mr so called first at everything Bowie and his on-line replica of the NPGMC

Hi, Jason!! To add to what you said, Prince's official site says to check there for the official information. They will be selling tickets from the site.

First of all, this year's NPGMC membership was a paltry $25. Twenty five freakin dollars, after all the bitching over last year's $100. And guess what? People still cried and moaned.

We all know the four cds we received last year did not make up for the $100 value; and infact a significant portion of that $100 value were the soundchecks and aftershows.

Even if slightly more people joined due to the cheaper membership fee, it is quite possible and reasonable that the NPGMC would attempt to build in extra costs into other things that members would pay for, in order to make up for the shortfall.

Secondly, it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that Prince would let anyone come up on stage with him. That just sounds crazy, no matter how much they paid.

Lastly, simma down na. I mean really. If anything by now, folks should have learned that with Prince it is best to adopt a wait and see attitude. It is simply not worth it to get all worked up over anything he does, until it is done or has been announced by him.
"That...magic, the start of something revolutionary-the Minneapolis Sound, we should cherish it and not punish prince for not being able to replicate it."-Dreamshaman32

exactly! october and the concerts are only weeks away, so don't feed into all this "well, i heard..."-type stuff. it'll only make ya'll think about your overworked nerves as opposed to thinkin about what really matters: seein ol' boy after him bein absent from australia for over 10 years.

Yep. I stand corrected somewhat. However, the basic price for NPGMC members is still nowhere near $300.

Just an extra $20 ($170) on the ticketek good seats price of $150 for a guaranteed place in the first 15 rows? That's not too bad you know!
