Part of what makes Mountains a boring song to me is that the majority of the song is stuck on one G major chord and it rarely changes. The instrumentation and vocal harmonies save it, but there's still not much to it. | |

That's cool Funkmistress...definitely go with that feeling. The technical aspect isn't all that important, it's how a song makes you feel that's really important. If Mountains gives you that high as it seems to give many fans, then that makes it a good song.
It just doesn't do much for me, but to each their own. | |

Mountains is too pop-lite. It's okay but not one of his better songs. It sounds very uninspired musically and lyrically. The funny thing is, it was one of my favorite songs on Parade when I first heard it. It doesn't really grow on you though. |

That is funny. It had the opposite effect on me. It was one of my least favorite songs on Parade for several years and it did grow on me. Like a fungus. But not one of those contagious itchy ones. The Normal Whores Club | |
