Meli'ssa Morgan's "Do Me, Baby"

This has always been one of my fav Prince songs and I think Meli'ssa Morgan (sp?) does it justice in her rendition... what do you think?

I posted about this song months ago and you can't imagine how backlash she recieved from that thread.

I could give a frog's fat ass tho, Meli'sa's version is the voom-boom-diggity headbang

I have a tape from her doing a concert(aired in BET) back from 1990. She sang that motha as an encore and homegirl had a standing evotation from that pre4mance, she sounds betta live reminds me alot of Chaka Khan. Matta o' fact, she used to be a backround singer 4 Chaka.

I saw the video this year in VH-1

I have to agree that Mel'issa Morgan's version was fabulous. I would love to see her and Prince do a duet to this song. Prince could sing the first verse and she could sing the second. That would be awesome. smile

I agree Me'lissa's cover was well done. The production, esp the bass had BOOM; and her voice was very soulful. It was a heavier, boomier, version of the song.

Prince's was lighter on the production, tight. Me'lissa had hollas while Prince had screams.

Meli'ssa wanted Prince to produce her follow-up album in 1986.But I don't think he was interested.

Pff I'm glad he didn't, he would've fucked her up. You know the brotha ain't that tight when it comes 2 producing other folks(unless if they share with him the same bed).

I saw her in a Chaka's concert and at the middle of the pre4mance, Chaka sang happy birthday 4 her!
