Parade was a "train wreck" of an album to begin with, but Mountains is one of the better tracks...much better than Do U Lie or Christopher Tracy's Parade for sure...and New Position, and Venus De Milo...and...
I was worried about Prince back in 1986 after Parade, but then he came back super strong with SOTT and I never totally counted him out again. | |

The 12" of Mountains is fantastic. The horns on this are top draw. In fact all of Princes 12"s from Parade are amazing. I cant actually beleive how badly Parade was represented on The Hits in '93. One song, when there were at least four that should've been on. Mountains most certainly should have been included. | |

Well, to finally clear this up:
I opened this thread in reaction to the "Mountains is one of the most AWESOME songs!!!"-tread just for fun. Because: AWFUL and AWESOME as words look quite similar. As I already stated in the above mentioned other track, I quite like "mountains", though it´s not one of my favourite "Parade"-tracks (those would be: Anotherlover..., Girls & Boys and Sometimes It Snows In April). So, let´s close this thread now See the man with the blue guitar, maybe one day he`ll be a star... |
