Ticketmaster Auction Will Let Highest Bidder Set Concert Prices There was a very interesting NPGMC news item posted within the last couple of weeks that dealt with this very issue -- here is the link provided by the club:
Official Scalpers? What I essentially got out of the article is the fact that Ticketmaster is moving towards an "auction" type of model as far as ticket prices are concerned. What is most intriguing is Ticketmaster is quoted as saying that if a ticket is purchased enormously over the face value then the ticket is worth that inflated price. Sign of the times... indeed. At least at a smaller venue you feel like you're experiencing something close to a connection to the band you're watching. Large venue shows feel way too anonymous,even when you luck out and score the schmancy seats. I basically feel like you're paying more money for less of an experience. | |
