Not a very popular song on the org, but I LOVE the movie UTCM, & "MOUNTAINS". I play it several times in a row always, and the video is COOL.

Love will conquer if you just beleive.

It's only Mountains and the Sea.
There's nothing greater...you and me.

How beautiful. 2 of the most powerful and greatest aspects of this planet, the Mountains and the Sea. And even that isn't greater than the love shared between 2 people.

The music is just so light and vibrant and sincere.

I LOVE THIS SONG TO DEATH!!!
Excellent! It's about Unity. Women are powerful, but so are Men!

17 Days is a classic pop song.

Fantastically crafted - The Apollonia 6 album was really shaping upto be a great little pop record until Prince fell out of love with the project.

The 12" extended version especially gets me. It could go on forever and I'd be happy. One of his best.

Amazing record.
Worringly, though it has the same intro as 'Chain Reaction' by the Bee Gees/Diana Ross..which was out at almost exactly the same time!

And this song is one in a string of songs that Prince uses the #17.

Mountains
Tamborine
17 Days
Partyman

Any other songs?

Does anybody know the meaning of using this number over and over? I love it because it's my birthday smile
I really have no idea what the 17 is for. Perhaps it has to do with his fascination with the number 7. 17 Days sounds a lot better than 7 Days.

The 12" is great and made me appreciate this song, but I don't get much out of the album version. I think it's probably the weakest thing on the Parade CD, although since all of the songs on that album are great, Mountains still makes for a decent listen.

No it doesn't - they are musically different, and the difference is obvious.

Mountains = WENDY AND LISA! Prince just borrowed it. Wendy told this to the audience when they played Belgium in the late eighties.

Awesome song but the 12" version does drag on. The funky outro in the LP version is just enough to keep you wanting more. Props to Wendy & Lisa.. their first solo album picks up where Parade left off.

Mountains has an element of magic to it. From the moment it
begins it entrances you.

It's like one of those days at the end of summer when the
light is hauntingly beautiful, sun shines on the trees and
illumes everything in a golden light whilst the horizon is
canonball grey with dark rainclouds coming in.

The area between the sunlit trees and the dark horizon is
covered in a foggy blue-grey trancelike light.

That light, thát's what mountains is all about for me.

Call me sentimental but I think we must be related in some way...
