has Prince heard of this record?

gotta wonder if P is a golden earring fan, or if he just liked their idea of calling an album N.E.W.S. so much he decided to use it himself:

That doesn't mean nothing.A lot of artist use the same title for an album. Just look at Bob James's 1979 album "Sign Of The Times", I guess Prince desided to use that title too huh.rolleyes

or the use of the phrase 'PURPLE RAIN' in that song by AMERICA.
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

OMG, he was inspired by Phillis Diller. Now that is strange!
There is actually a hip-hop complition of rappers (I think) titled "N.E.W.S" with the same idea. So I guess it wasn't as cleaver and original an idea as I first thought it.
