Hello & welcome to a special edition of the 777 Update. The 777 Update is a Prince Fan Newz Update not affiliated with Prince Rogers Nelson, Paisley Park, NPG Records, Warner Brothers Records, the NPG Music Club or NPGMusicClub.Com in any way, shape or form. Early Saturday morning Feb 2nd, 2002, the NPGMC chat was opened for all members to converse. Around four in the morning MPLS time, Prince & a Paisley Park employee dropped some info on the Detroit Crawl's fearless leader, Tim. He took notes n what is provided here is an outline of the conversation. We thank Tim for sharing this info with us. This is a different kind of update as we will share the convo Tim caught n add some tidbits at the end. I am sure there will be more info dropped today & over the weekend so fi you are an NPGMC member, join the chat all day Saturday Feb. 2nd for other info. Without any further delay, here it is & to check out some of Tim's Brilliance, [ w w w . TheDetroitCrawl . o r g ] NPGMC CHAT This is FRESH OFF THE PRESSES. I took a shot at logging on the NPGMusicClub.Com a few hours ago to see if the "Saturday" chat was up and accessible. Yes it was. Chatted with fellow Detroit Crawlers on the list -- hey symph! -- as well as J7 in SoCal. I think I even chatted with MauvEden before she crashed for the night. The chat (which is still going on, most likely) was just basic chit-chat, until, ... About 5am eastern standard time, Prince and members of the NPGMC staff went online to the NPGMC.com chatroom after a Friday night gig with Maceo Parker and Larry G. Some of the joints played early this morning were, according to a poster named DML, "(t)he setlist as I remember it included, ' Starfish and Coffee, Sometimes it Snows in April, The Ride, Strange Relationship, Rainbow Children, The Everlasting now, and Family Name. ' " ... Then a few minutes later, I spotted "PRINCE HAS JUST SIGNED IN" and two PaisleyPark entries sign in to the chat. One of the chatters started out to be Larry Graham, then he went away (just quick hello). I believe John Blackwell in the chat as well, for a bit. ... Luckily, I opened up my notepad and proceeded to copy bits and pieces of the chat, keying on what "PaisleyPark2" had to share, which, for all intents and purposes, is someone who works for Paisley Park and NPGMC. What transpires below is some juicy stuff. NPGMC Year 2 will be different, a world tour is in the works starting summer 2002, something called Xenophobia, 23-year old violinist extraordinare Vanessa Mae, and a tongue-in-cheek Celebration III mention. More info dropped later on in the chat was a talk of a new LIVE DVD release later in the year, at least four new cd;s dropping this year thru the NPGMC, a new cd by Larry Graham. Upcoming song titles that will be released thru the Music Club are; "Moonbeam Levels" "Others Here With Us" "Come Outside & Play" "Witness 4 The Prosecution" Also was told that all Prince songs from the Warner catalog have been remastered. Even stating that John Blackwell is like an octopus on Prosecution & other tracks. As was mentioned in the January update, Vanessa Mae is on the newly recorded cd along with Candy Dulfer. Vanessa Mae is one of the world's best classical musicians, & quite beautiful if I might add. The Music Club did not promise these things but did say...could you imagine... Hope this was informative to y'll/. Not your usual kind of Update but I hoep you enjoyed it. BTW, the STATE OF THE N.P.G. ADDRESS has been de;ayed due to this news & also not to coincide with U.S. President George Bush's State of the Union Address. The only reason I ever called it the state of the N.P.G. is cuz I thought it was catcht...not to play a power trip. A regular Update with more info will follow in the next two weeks. Erm...this was a fairly interesting read, but is there some reason this was (re?)posted now? Is Ozzy about to make a statement that he, Prince and Larry are going to start a JW jazz trio? Is the NPG going to cover an off-the-hook Tool song? Will there be an upcoming chat with Prince where NPGMC club members can complain about people who complain about complainers who complain about people who complain about complaining? I'm confused, but then again, I'm always confused so what's new... | |
