no. i like both Mr D'arby and Prince, but it's not something Prince would go for.I'd rather he do a few tracks with Carlos, or failing that Lenny Kravitz.

Has Prince ever commented on TTD? I don't recall him ever saying anything about him.He might hate the guy!

Another claiming that TTD is over must be overlooking his last album, Wildcard. He is still the other artist that comes close to the level of artistry that Prince reigns over.

Prince has told more than once that he was a big fan of Sananda as Sananda has said the same about Prince. They had done some recordings back in the day together that never saw the light of day though.
A collaboration of the 2 of them definately would be a lot more interesting than a Prince collaboration with Lenny Kravitz or Santana IMHO.

I remember when TTD first came out of the woodwork. I have mostly everything on him. Every album, and every single possible to get my hands on. His concert video plus every interview and performance possible. So yes, I think he is underrated for "shooting off his mouth" way back in the day. I wish people would overlook that crap because everyone is young and says stupid things at times. Anyway back in the 80's I remember reading an article when he was hot and everyone loved him.

He stated that his first meeting with prince was sort of like in a small crowded atmosphere where prince was sitting with his entourage. He said he went back to meet him and people parted like the "red sea" the closer he got to him. Anyway prince stated something about people would compare them as to being similar, gave him a small lesson on the music biz, and TTD kissed him on the cheek and then rolled out. He said it was one of the highlights of his career.

I think Prince and Eminem should do a duet.

He plays the same instruments as Prince does. And I think your assessment of Sananda's abilities are grossly underestimated.

I don't think Prince is on the top as far as popcharts go...but TTD is old hat, & I've checked out all his records after "Hardline.." and I thought they were weak. And frankly besides a couple songs on Hardline, I thought that the album had crappy production, & bad arrangements. I was never impressed at all...

I don't think TTD is even in the same galaxy as Prince.

All albums Sananda/TTD had made are fantastic (IMO "Introducing.." is the weakest of them, but still a great debut album), I just wish I could say the same of all Prince albums...

I am VERY serious, Sananda's voice is unbelievable, he is a fantastic lyricist, a great songwriter, producer and performer and an artist that really writes and sings his songs from his very heart with true emotion.

TTD is phenomenal. Symphony or Damn is just one of the best albums ever. He's not as good as Prince, but he is a damn sight more interesting than a majority of artists. I got into him through hearing the Prince comparisons, and while they don't ring true, i'm still eternally grateful that I found him.

If anybody hasn't, have a try, ignore his earlier comments ,and focus on the music. You'll thank me for it
