Melissa Morgan "Do Me Baby"
Chaka Khan "Don't Talk 2 Strangers"
and I must agree with garnis that "I Could Never Take The Place of Your Man" by Jordan Knight was a damn good cover. He slowed the song down; and, I like Jordan's version better. This is the only time anyone will hear me say this though smile

Years ago I once tuned into VH1 and caught the tail end of Pink Floyd doing Purple Rain. Gilmore was wailing on the solo. It looked like it was from the "Delicate Sound of Thunder" tour. I have never seen or heard anything ever again about this. So if anybody knows...

It's an instrumental outing with heavy grooves and improvisation.

Could it possibly be Tom Jones with The Dave Gilmore band..?

There was a big music show in the UK (which subesquently VH1 showed re-runs of), presented by Tom Jones. He'd have weekly guest performers who takled about music, etc... He'd close every episode with a cover with The Dave Gilmore Band. one week they did Purple Rain. Dave Gilore was AMAZING in the guitar. real passion.

I take that back, that was a bit harsh edit.

Tom Jones, Kiss!

No, hold it, Tori Amos, Purple Rain!

No, fuck it, Mariah Carey and that other guy doin' The Beautiful Ones!

No, damn that shit, LeAnn Rimes 'doing' Purple Rain!

Only kidding...

They're the ones I've heard - actually Tori Amos is a'ight.

According to this list I've just found, apparently the Flying Pickets did a cover of Purple Rain and I Feel For U as well...now that I gotta hear lol

That is a very cool version. The violin solo is a great touch.
