First-time post- a new dawn. The real world starts here!! Hi!
This is my first post here on the Org. I usually check in every couple of weeks or so, just to read the whinin' and complainin', the flirtin' and the ribbin' and most recently the bullshittin'. I think we all need a serious reality check. As a lifelong fan of Prince's music, I'm horrified at just how embarassing these forums have become. Horrified. Totally horrified. Yeah. Like the emoticon says... There's some really good people here. Nice kids. But there are some delusional crazies here too. I won't name any names yet, not until we all get to know each other a little better. But I want to be the first person to draw a line in the sand and say no more. No more. Get that? No more. The most important thing about Prince's music is not his religion. It's not what he thinks about your sexual inclination. It's not about what he wears now, or whether he likes the Japanese, or whether or not he's climbing the drainpipes and whispering through certain 'fams' windows, giving them super-secret-hush-hush info. The music is about us. About how we relate to a particular man's music on an emotional level. Lets give ourselves a little credit here. When an artist tells his fans "It's you guys that matter," its not just polite, its fact. The fans are all that matter (and for that reason, we need to be kicking this 'fam' crap out of the window). Music is personal. Its what we want to listen to when we're making love, or lying in the darkness contemplating our own demise. Or planning a murder. When I listen to 'Adore', I don't think about Prince's prissy little pout, I think about the girl I love, and what she means to me, and what the song means to us. That's how art works, folks. So, how's this for a new start? Lets ease back on the crazy crap and get talking about us. That's what a community's all about. What we say about Prince means jackshit to him. You better believe it. With that, then, and a big hello to all of you... ...lets begin.

Thanks, fingasnapz.
I'll be a regular soon, don't worry. Then if Prince's career kicks off again in a big way, its me you'll be thanking...

hmmm. I smell a rat... He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. - Albert Einstein

At least it's turned into a bit of fun badger baiting!
Not that I bait real badgers, ofcourse. He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. - Albert Einstein

It aint anji seems awfully coincidental that Anji takes his final bow, and that this person makes his/her debut, vaguely hinting around at the same things.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. As I read threads here, I read stuff that clearly is written by people that have been in CyberPrincespace for a long time: alt.music.prince, the AOL Paisley Park Chatroom, the AOL Prince bulletin board, trading stuff listed on the old Prince Swap List, etc., et.al.
Anybody that has to announce a "first-time post"...oh, well. You know what (probably) really is up. The rest of us aren't obsessed like they are, so they have to spend endless hours showing us how the rest of us are wrong (and how wrong the rest of us are!), LOL, no matter how many screennames they have to use to do it! OOOPS...let me stop with the verbosity of this post before people start trying to figure out what my back in the day screennames were, LMAO!

Great message bigl! Maybe Our Prince will come, huh? I agree with the above in the sense that I don't really care who a person is, if I like their lyrics, sermons, abilities then I appreciate that. Thx bigl. The music is about us. --------

Hi again.
I thought I should get a reply down quickly, since a lot of people have started to miss my point already, and are forming the same old-same old conspracy theories we're all so tired of. This IS my first post. I'm not someone with a new screen-name, and I'm certainly not Anji. God forbid. If you want honest, lets get honest. I'm just a guy too lazy to do my profile. I'll get it sorted out in no time. In the meantime, my name's Robert and I'm from the great city of Glasgow in the beautiful country of Scotland. I'm 26 years old, male, straight, and a professional writer by trade. Oh, and my brain might not be bigger than a bread box, but I'm sure you could fit some bagels in there. Anyway, its good to see all of you, and I'm glad some of you got what I was trying to say, and didn't immediately kick off into a 'who is this mysterious stranger' thing. I'm just a guy with some Prince LP's. Just like the rest of you.
