ALLMUSIC. COM

Hey, I'm sure everyone is familiar with www.allmusic.com a decent review site and cross referenced encyclopaedia of music.
It's great to use in conjunction with kazaa

anyways, they include a bootleg section, and their prince section is, of course, weak, but I give them credit. It does include Hot Pink and Moonraker
Funny thing is they have reviewers and I'm just curious if they get real fans or regular critics.

Alex Henderson is the only reviewer listed.

Anyone know who this is?

Oh and I just noticed prince is listed as perfomer on Nat King Cole Trio Complete Early Transcriptions (1938)
Anyone have a copy of this? lol

Some of the info on allmusic is jacked up but anyone can contribute reviews to the site.

TRON

I visit this site constantly. I've learned a lot about artists I didn't previously know. I notice the same names cropping up on all the reviews with a few exceptions. Steven Thomas Erlewine seems to be the main guy. But Ned Ragett probably writes the best reviews.

I constantly visit this site to be introduced to other artists, but the Prince page is screwed up, and has quite a few errors.

hey i remember when allmusic was the 'allmusicguide' (amg) part of the 'ultimate band list' website. after amg went awol to become the online music bible we know and love, ubl became artistsdirect which offers a very similar servce but more commercially related (links to purchase albums).

amg and amazon.co.uk/.com are the three most important sites in english for album reviews in my opinion. amg for it's depth (though sometimes subjective) and amazon because sometimes the reviews are just so damn funny.
