(Another) Weird NPGMC Post "Xcerpt from the 4thcoming:
"Modern technology has given us the means 2 produce an endless supply of nearly perfect copies of an original. But it cannot reproduce INSPIRATION — and neither can it produce perfect copies of the sensations u felt in ur body, mind and soul the last time u found urself in tune with a work of art that u were xperiencing. This is something u need 2 constantly work on, and u also need 2 learn 2 accept the fact that such sensations r never twice the same." -NPGMC 2003" What on earth is this suppose to mean??? technology can not produce perfect copies of the sensations I felt in my body, mind and soul the last time I had hot steamy sex either.
Seriously tho', what the people at NPGMC who wrote this need to understand is that without modern technology, recording equipment or computers wouldn't have been invented, and Prince wouldn't have been such a succesfull recording artist, and they wouldn't have the job they currently enjoy. -- [This message was edited Wed Sep 17 2:15:51 PDT 2003 by Abrazo] You are not my "friend" because you threaten my security.

It's one of the few times the npgmc has actually made sense to me ... and I agree with what they're saying (which worries me a little)

in my opinion - it of course makes sense. But nothing changes the fact that what they are saying is not really revealing. I don't suppose that anybody in their right mind believes that an aesthetic experience is exactly the same as any previous one. Besides, why should anybody want to copy such an experience. Re-live, yes, but copy? What for?
This kind of kindergarden revelations is, I'm afraid, a characteristic feature of many of NPGMC posts (if they happen to have sense in the first place). ______________

amazing what a lack of inspiration can do to an artist tho.

Don't u think this quotation can be part of the Lirycs of a forthcoming song ?
It can be possible, can't it ?

Ah, really. I mean, as If Prince never hit 'record' on his vcr before and watched things back numerous times.
"u also need 2 learn 2 accept the fact that such sensations r never twice the same" Damn Straight! I wish he applied this theory to the wonderful songs he records and stores in his vault, then years later, re-records them and ruins them. So... someone explain it to me!
What I believe him to be saying is that he has decided NOT to remaster his music. He has decided that what's done is done, let's turn the page. Okay then, I didn't want a remastered version of "When Doves Cry" or "Raspberry Beret" anyways. What I would like is some new music, WITH LYRICS, and screaming and some heartfelt emotion. I dig all the never stuff, but jazz ain't never been my thang. I need some rock and r&b and some sexin' in the lyrics... FUCK already... damn! And , by the way, I believe that this statement is by no means any kind of reference to the Family Jamm. He'll be there or be square baby!

Yeah,I think he's saying that there will be NO remastered versions of his old albums. With all this hype about the 'Purple Rain' 20th Anniversary, this might be his way of lowering our expectations for next year

Prince claims that he lived long enough to see the Dawn. Fair enough. But, man, what a foggy Dawn that is...Our favorite purple freak is more out to lunch than ever... I think you all are reading way too much into it. The news post at NPGMC is just what it says it is an "excerpt" from the forthcoming. My speculation is that all that is forthcoming is another tired editorial from Prince about the state of the music industry, being free, yadda, yadda, yadda.
And what they have given us is just an excerpt of that editorial. I wouldn't get my hopes up for anything else if I were you. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Or it could be an excerpt from lyrics (spoken, probably, like at the beginning of Family Name). I don't know how much water the rumor of a new album in November holds, but if that were true, it seems likely this is an excerpt from that (or perhaps an essay in the CD booklet).

I think it means that you can't illegally download the experience of being at a live performance...in other words, he's gonna tour soon.
