Renato's keys Someone here a while back posted a list of the keys that Renato used on the One Night Alone tour. I can't find the post anymore, but those who know will either confirm or correct that they were the following:
front: Yamaha Motif 6 (top), Yamaha Motif 8 (bottom) right: Nord Lead 2 (top), Korg Triton (bottom) left: ??? (top), Fender Rhodes (bottom) What sits atop the Rhodes? Anyone know? Prince used a Motif 8 and Fender Rhodes, btw. -SWANGasynthykindofguy

whatever keys he used, he needs to add a little reverb to it.. his playin is great, but when he hits those notes, they are short, and they dont linger after its been hit...
trust me, it makes a difference.

i think i disagree here. renato's keys always sound great to me. that's not reverb cutting the keys short, that's just the piano sample. more reverb would clog his playing somewhat. he doesn't need to cover up his playing with a load of reverb.

Those NORD synths are damn funky! Probably the best synth he's had in his band since the 80's (Oberhiem) Xperience the Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com/

Sustain pedal makes a piano note decay slower not reverb. Reverb gives an indication as to the environment in which the note was played i.e A small room, a hall etc... You do as I say

just come back to this threa...
howcomeudontcallmeanymore, well theoretically ure correct to an extent, except that simulating an enviroment has the effect to the human ear of increasing the decay time doesn't it? u forgot to mention the sustain pedal actually results in the note being held as though the player had not lifted his finger of the note. im not sure i agree with ure definition of what the sustain pedal does when placed in context with the rest of the posts here.

ok, swang, on the leno everlasting now performance, the nord isn't there, but the triton sits on top of the rhodes, right?
i dont think it's a karma in the aladin vid , it looks silver. maybe an organ synth of some kind? u can get a goodish look at it in 1+1+1=3
