I'd beg him for the chance to drop $100 just to see him play When Doves Cry all the way through, with feeling. If he chooses the songs wisely, stays away from medley snippets, and plays it like he still loves the songs, this could be BIG.

Of course, we're talking about Prince, so let's at least hope he doesn't recruit Geneva again to do her infamous windmills.

Either way, SHIT'S HAPPENING! smile

If only I could bring my honeymoon forward about 9 months. (And the wedding!)

And change it from Canada to Australia.

Although the missus has always wanted to go to Hong Kong...

How the hell can P make projects like NEWS and TRC and then...and then tour his hits. I had a taste of his jazz set at the Montreal Jazz Fest a couple years ago and I'd love some more o that. So why is he going backwards. MISTAKE.

I guess he is retiring the hits AGAIN...he already said he was retiring Purple Rain, but then brought it back. I suspect he will retire these songs this tour, only to bring them all back in a year or two.

People shouldn't fret about it being touted as a greatest hits tour as this is the only way he will fill the big venues he's playing.

Dont forget he has not toured here for 11 years and almost no-one here knows didly squat about his most recent stuff. Even if he plays some hits I'm sure he'll mix it up a bit.

I for one will be happy if he doesnt play those boring tracks from the great snoozefest that is NEWS.

This sounds like taking a step backward to my ears. He was moving forward with TRC & N.E.W.S & then...he tours playing all his old hits?! Huh? It sounds like he's giving in to the people who want nothing but the old stuff.

Still, if this is the only way to get the "Take Me With U"/"Raspberry Beret" medley off of his setlist forever, I say "Bring it on!!!"

I'm a UK lad living in Sydney for twelve months and I would love to get two tickets for the Enetrtainment Centre show. Only thing is could this possibly be sold out amongst Oz NPG music club members alone?
If so, I will become a member to ensure I get two seats.
Any Aussies know of how many the Entertainment Centre holds and if I will have a good chance of getting tickets through Ticketek on the 30th?
Orgnote me if you can please.

the entertainment centre is quite big

from their website:

"Averaging an attendance of 1 million people each year, the Sydney Entertainment Centre is famous for its flexibility, providing seating capacities for an intimate setting of 500 people up to a maximum of almost 12,500."

I think you'll get a look in without joining the club, personally!

A Hits Tour seems perfectly timed to me. Unless there's a new album/CD to promote, bring on the best of the older music! Go, Prince!

The part that blows me away is reading that Clear Channel is involved in the tour promotion. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing, but I thought for sure that Prince was fed up with their frightening near-monopoly of music stations and concert promotion.
