Black Album: Who is "Frankie"?

On the black album, they refer to "Frankie"... as in "Serve it Up Frankie!" during "Le Grind".

Later in Cindy C they say "Serve it Up Sheila".

Since I believe Sheila plays drums throughout the Black Album, is "Frankie" an alter ego for Sheila?

It is thought to be Frank Zappa. No that he's on the cd smile

It's just a kind of tribute, probably.

I always thought Frankie was just kind of a nerdy character Prince made up to make fun of.

Yeah,I have always wondered who the hell is "Frankie"? He is mentioned several times,on 'The Black Album' and 'Lovesexy'...

***On "Le Grind",the girls say "Serve it up,Frankie!" at one point. At the song's conclusion, you can hear Cat saying "Frankie honey, you know you love Le Grind".

***At the beginning of "2 Nigs United 4 West Compton",Cat once again says "Serve it up,Frankie!"

***On "Eye No",during the break-down,we again hear the girls chanting "Serve it up,Frankie"

It could be Holly Johnson (From Frankie goes to Hollywood)
When he presented Prince with his brit in '85; he said "I've had phone sex with this man"..which I thought was a bit strange

Where the hell did you hear this?? And how does that part of 2 nigs in any way relate to Frank Zappa?? Does Prince even like Frank Zappa?

Or are you just pulling my leg, and am I falling for it?

I don't think he's dead. Altho there was an article in an
English tabloid a couple of years ago that said he was.

I guess that's where the confusion comes from. I saw him
on tv last year doing some sort of interview on that topic.

During the 1987 show at Le New Morning in Paris, someone shouts out "Frankie" and the band laughs so it's someone in the band's nickname or an inside joke. I'm too lazy to find out who is playing/soloing when it's said

do that your damn self!

About the Zappa reference - anybody heard "Joe's Garage"? If so, you'll notice the similarities to "TRC", basically, the album-long deepanddark voice-over. I would be very very surprised if Prince never heard "Joe's Garage" and would not be surprised at all if he's a Zappa fan.
