Well...the last time Australia saw him was during the "Diamonds and Pearls" tour. So I think it's about time we heard some of the hits after that live. big grin

EXACTLY. He will retire them again and again if it gets him media attention and a few more "fans" come to the show. Don't count on him every retiring them for real.

lol
Listen to any bootleg of the ONA Tour, and the loudest cheer of the night is when the band strikes up for 'Take Me With U'.And he knows it.
I don't care whether he plays 'hits', or not...aslong as it aint a N.E.W.S. concert, I don't care.

He said that in 1993.

That was a decade ago.

As long as there is cash, there will be music.

Alot of artists have gone on tour, saying that they're gonna "retire" the old hits, but take it with a grain of salt. There are probably some songs that Prince may never perform again (being a JW and all),but I doubt that he will completely stop performing his biggest hits.

An old story. Back in '95 he said he was never gonna play Prince songs again. bored

There is nothing on the official site about him playing his hits for the last time. Also, we gotta remember this IS Prince we're talking about.

Elton John, is notorious for doing 'final' tours.
You're right about 'Take me with you' though.
Everyone, in Dublin went mad for that. I don't know if that's because, it's such a good song.

Maybe the Aussie promoter requested/insisted that Prince play the old songs in the contract. It has happened before (Japan 96).

What kind of a job is that? Travel the world
and playing your ass off, but before it even
started, the people who are supposed to
dig the music start complaining.
Now who wants to trade the job?
I can`t believe it. I just can`t believe it.
Who cares how often he said this or that?
Look at yourself first. If you look at yourself,
you`ll notice that only on a very good day,
you fulfill your own goals. Very often
you fail. And that`s the truth.
It`s cool, isn`t it? The man is still busy,
sooner or later he comes to your hometown
and plays for you. Ain`t that great?

i take all these comments with as much a grain of salt as i do prince's words. how many of these complaints are from aussies? and how many of these complaints are coming from people who will still fork over 125 US dollars to see him? exactly.
