WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST BOOTLEG? The first bootleg that I got was actually from a friend. He got it while he was overseas...he knew I was really into Prince.
He got me "His Royal Badness"...it's a concert from the Controversy tour in New Orleans. It's still one of my favourite boots. So what was the first one you got?

"Unauthorised Live In Europe 1988" which is essentially an edited version of the "Small Club" boot. I didn't even know what a bootleg was! I thought it was legal, like an unauthorised biography is legal, only "unauthorised" by the person it's about Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

First boot on CD: Possesed
First boot on Vinyl: Can't remember the name, but it was a 12" single that had a couple 'mega mixes' on it and the unreleased extended version of Batdance. I don't really consider it a real LP, since it only had 3 tracks . The first (and only) LP boot I got was The Back Album. First boot(s) on tape: The Black Album and Camille (both were on one tape) .mental fart edit [This message was edited Tue Sep 16 0:54:08 PDT 2003 by Nikster]

I bought two on the same day
Which one I actually paid for first I couldn't tell you ... Small Club - the original release on X Rekords for A$90 and Extra Lovable on 2LP for I think it was A$45 yay ! I didn't even know bootlegs existed before this ... and this was back in like 1996 or 7 Now I count my boots at over 600 so its not all bad Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now!

The first I had was a collection of outtakes on a single disc called "Yellow".
It had tracks like "I Wonder", "Player", "Martika's Kitchen", "Power From Above", "Carmen On Top", "get Blue", "Open Book", "The Voice", Uh Huh!", etc. The packaging looked so good, I thought it was an official release. When I got home and listened to the bad quality of some of these tracks, I thought "something's not right..." Never play it anymore though, because now I have The Work! 555-4444 you're on coffee talk.

A TDK clear cassette with Charade on one side and some megamixes on the other. The cover was a smudged photocopy of a photo from the Sign O' The Times tour on flourescent orange paper. Wish I still had it.

The first boot I has was given to me called "THE WHITE ALBUM". This was an edited version of Dormund 88' Lovesexy on a single cd.
The first boot I ever bought was Neslon Rogers nightclubbing and a copy of the Black album. Then I was hooked for life... . "
First I need a picture of your mother, to verify the fact that there's not another one in the universe so supreme!!"

A friend made me a tape of The Black Album in the winter of 87/88. I was a senior in high school, and most of my friends HATED Prince but for some reason everyone LOVED that tape. It was played at every party I was at from about March to July in 1988. Bob George was the obvious favorite. The sound quality was horrible but I think the bad quality added to the funkiness of it.
I remember when it was officially released, one of my friends from high school who I still hung out with at the time mentioned he picked it up...but it wasn't as good as the tape I gave him back in 1988. He thought it was touched up in the studio. Bought my 1st CD bootleg around 1995. Jewel Box II for $75, then Jewel Box I a week later. The Black Album on cassette in 1988.
Shortly after I got a tape of a 1999 tour concert and some outtakes, I've forgotten which songs they were. My first bootleg CD was of the famous 1988 After Show in Holland. Now, I've got, like, tons of cassettes and CDs of boots. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!
