In no particular order:

- The name change
- The "slave" thing
- The Tora Tora interview on the Sunday Show
- The open letter to Madonna
- Satan's Claws
- Graffiti Bridge
- Most of the "3 Chains o gold" video
- Everything that's ever appeared on NPGMC and L4OA

apart from that, he's good.

lol I had forgotten about "Satan's Claws!" lol x 10,416!!!
Please tell me about that AND the Madonna thing. I have never even heard of them.

The open letter to Madonna was posted a couple of years ago on npgmc.com (or perhaps it was still npgonlineltd.com or even l4oa.com then?) and asked Madonna to join Prince in his fight against WB.
The whole thing was witten in language not much different from the cryptic stuff that now fills npgmc's music news section.

Santa's Claws was an email all clubmembers got, i think it was in year one (i have no memory for these things). We got it around christmas time and I don't think i even fully read the thing, but anyway ... Santa's Claws = Santaclaus ... "christmas is wrong" was basically the message.

Perhaps someone here has both these texts so you can read them (or maybe the org gods can get around to fixing the search smile )

I was in the club in year one and I don't remember the Santa's Claws thing at all.

He begged her help in his fight against Warners to get his master tapes back. As the open letter was posted on his website and not send to her directly, I kinda doubt she ever even read it.

Now what's with this Satan Claw? I've never heard about that.

-Over-priced concert tickets.
-The name change, of course (I'm still trying to figure that one out).
-Converting to JW. He should've just studied Buddhism, but that's just my opinion.
-Splitting up with the Revolution.
-Basically, going off the deep end to become a free-Jazz musician.
-Pimping their fams on the NPG site (which is why I'm not a member).
-Shedding his freak-nasty image (which was his initial true essence) for a more clean-cut, wholesome, religious stance.

...but, you know, I don't necessarily think these are stupid moments. I'd rather consider them mistakes than stupid decisions. And if he has to learn the hard way, then let him.

thedog

1) When he made a fool of himself at that James Brown concert in 83, while Michael Jackson showed so much class.
2) When he performed dolphin on david Letterman with Mytae or whatever her name is dancing around with ribbons. Oh yeah at the end of the song he pretends to die and the drummer Michael Bland runs out from behind his drums and drags him off stage.

Yeah. He's so tiny and thin, even Mayte could have dragged him. Why did it have to be Michael Bland? lol

tackam

I really don't think that any of his artistic choices have been stupid. . .and I like NEWS, dammit. smile

But yeah, taking his fans to court. . wow. Not so much that in itself, but the fact that he has acted so completely clueless about bootlegging and filesharing. He could have been on top of this yeeaaarrrs ago, but he just doesn't have a progressive attitude about it. Stupid.
