Patti does a Prince shoutout I'm probably late with this, but I was watching the Essence Music Festival and Patti Labelle did a shout out to Prince who she said "was in the back". She was one of the performers doing a tribute to Luther Vandross. This may have already been discussed here. I'm not sure. Anyway, just thought I'd throw it out here for ya. | |

i saw the awards also
i thought prince would come on stage i was disapointed when he didn't what did u think of usher's performance? he's quite the showman watching him made me miss prince, even more | |

That's probably the best I've heard him sound in a while. He screwed up a little, but overall it was cool. | |

I read in the cliff notes of the "Princes 1# Hits" album that he wrote "Adore" because of his admiration for Patti. I love me some Patti!!! She doesn't get as much respect as she deserves.
