I'd love to see Beck, Me'Shell or Stevie do it.

Lenny and the neo-soul cats (as much as I like'em) so want to be Prince's "heir" that any one of them would do it if asked.

I realise you mean that nastily but that's really what stands him apart from your ordinary 'pop' stars. That's why he's in the Hall Of Fame twice too.He deserves more respect.

In reality though, i'd like JB or Sly to do it.

I think CARLOS SANTANA should do it and if P gets in I think Santana will be the first choice to ask. I do not want to see any of the following do it...

Alicia Keys
Musiq
Dangelo
Alien Ant Farm
No doubt
Britney Spears(unless she strips on stage)
Sheena Easton
BECK!!

Basically I dont want anyone that is "into" Prince doing it. I want someone that PRINCE was influenced by and is from the same diversity, respects Music and comes from PRINCE's era or before.

And please no comedians or actors, sorry ChrisRock or Rosario Dawson.

Nope MJ deserves NO respect. I know I'm not the only one who feels that way. Anyone who grabs his crotch onstage and plays with little boys is not worthy of it. You don't see Prince doing that, do you?

Crotch grabbing! eek he should be strung up or lynched. i never knew he did that! Appalling shocking behaviour disbelief lol I just knew he shoulda copied Prince's assless pants phase!

as for the 'boys' thing, i've never believed that tabloid driven shit anyway. You however, can believe what you want.

I can't believe you never saw MJ grab his crotch while onstage. Surely you are just saying you never did just to be sarcastic.

Tabloid shit or not, it seems suspicious that when MJ had those sexual allegations brought against him by that kid that it got settled out of court. MJ probably paid the kid a big sum of money so the kid would shut up and not say anything more about it. That's got guilty written all over it.

I'd love to see Beck do it...

Also, Santana would be good, since from what I know, Prince is a big fan of his. I disagree with Jagger, since from what I know Prince didn't go down too well with Jagger, though Keith liked him. Also don't think the crowd were big fans, but not sure how right I am.

An early Prince champion, from what I know, was Elvis Costello - now that would be a bit surreal if he did it.

Don't want Beck, Mick Jagger, the "neo-soul" wannabes, P. Diddy, or Carmen Electra because they have no business being on the same stage as Prince.

George Clinton, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, David Bowie, Santana and James Brown would be interesting choices... but Nah! Too easy.

Sorry Larry and Sheila-- only the "fams" would appreciate it good or bad.

Madonna or MJ would be something to see. Still I don't think that's the ticket either.

The best choice is none other than Rick James. nod hmmm

No? OK. Then how's about Sly Stone? Next to Miles there's no one I'd rather see do it. Unless, say the GirlBros aren't too busy that night.

It'll be Larry though. rolleyes

I think Floetry or Missy Elliott should be on the induction committee. They are all songwriters and innovative. Why put someone; who has never written a song on an induction committee for an artist who writes and composes? Sorry, singer/songwriters only IMO!!!

I don't want:

Gwen... could handle Tony... since he is a true fan from day one.

no sheryl crow, or any guest artists

I would prefer to see Nile Rodgers, Clapton, or Lenny..

Since these guys have talked about the music the whole time... not about what his name is, dating , etc.

It would bring the house down if Sly Stone came out of hiding and did it...

I DO NOT WANT MICHAEL JACKSON! I don't want that freak inducting P. Also, I don't think Prince would be too happy about that either.

I'd say either Eric Clapton, George Clinton, Stevie Wonder, or Gwen Stefani/No Doubt. They are all known fans and also have influenced P in return.

Do U think Prince will go if he wins; or, is it mandatory for the artist to go when they become inducted.

David Haselhoff should do it. As a tribute to Prince and his
ongoing fight to be free, he could sing a new version of his
cult classic "I've been looking for Freedom".
