TRON

1. Rave
2. NPS
3. Chaos

Chaos has plenty of good songs on it. But for some reason, the whole taken together just gives me a headache.

New Power Soul is a fun toss off.

Rave has many moments of greatness but it's trying too hard.

Each cd has it's own gems, but if I had to pick the order of my favourites out of these 3 it would be:

1. Rave
2. Chaos & Disorder
3. NPS - Come on and The One are amazing songs.

i think come on and the one are the best songs on the album
i just think nps was going back on what prince used 2 say about covers and no sampling( i think he said that). nps the song is big fun all over. and i think it was madsex which sounded alot like Big White Mansion
but i do like Rave
i won't hide the fact that i do
it was my favourite album..

I go with Chaos, Rave, NPS. Listening to NPS after Rainbow Children or NEWS shows you why many people took that album as a joke. I actually like NPS. Mad Sex, Come On & Wasted Kisses are killer songs but can understand why people hate it so much. It really is substandard for Prince..

Are u hanging out in my head??? That's my exact order, and my thoughts on NPS. I'd go on to say that Rave has very good songs as well, but is completely uneven. Fast song, slow song, fast song, slow song. It never finds its groove.
let me come over it's a beautiful day to play with you in the dark

Chaos - Not as bad as people on here think
Rave - Just about as bad as folks think
NPS - Word haven't yet been devised to express fully my dislike of this God forsaken drivel

The point of this thread seems to be, "which of Prince's 3 worst records can you live with the most?"

I would rather see Diamonds and Pearls and the Symbol album in this top 3.

Chaos deserves much more respect. Chaos' title song alone kicks D & P in the nuts.

but U know after listening to "Mad Sex" I gotta say BRAVO. what a hot ass jammin song. NPS is pretty nice to. I think had the good songs on this and the good songs on "Exodus" been mixed together we would of had an Xtremely nice "party" LP for sure.

Rave was good IMO, the problem was that people tried to compare it to Santana's comeback LP to much. It was not his best but it also had some classic slow cuts and some unbelievably inspiring fast cut as well, "So Far, So Pleased" is one of my top ten favorites. "Silly Game" is classic and so is "Tangerine." The mistake with that LP was simple, the lead off single was completely wrong. So Far "So Far.." should have been released to pop stations and either "Hot with U" or "TGRES (remix) "should have gone out to Urban. He would have had two singles in the top ten easy (similar to 1987's "I Could Nver Take.../Hot Thing" release). But oh well.

Chaos is my favorite LP of these 3. It is just all over the place messy and "chaotic." "Dinner with Delores" was magnificent in my opinion. and "Into the Light/ I Will" I love so much, but it has "Had U" that "had me" upon 1st listen, especially the end guitar fade out. I love his short songs so much.

NewPowerSoul - for "Come On", "Wasted Kisses", "The One"

Then ...

Rave Un2 - for the title song, Hot Wit U, Undisputed, I Love U But Ure Fuckin' Tommy "Donkey Dick" Lee, Manowar

Chaos & Disorder - for "Dinner With Delores" only.

NPS has the better songs, so it wins.

These are by no means my favorites. I loved "Rave" until Iheard his back catolog. I think I would have to go.

1. Rave and Chaos
3. NPS

It i skind of diffcult becuase while "Choas" has some good stuff, it feels the least like an album (of course, it really wasn't meant to be). "Rave" is just too kitchy sometimes (why oh why cover "Everyday Is Winding Road" to a disco beat) and packed with too many guest stars that don't belong. Too sum up the problem with guest stars on "Rave" takes only 3 words...Too many bitches! Chuck and Maeco are the stars that fit on the album. The Sherly Crow deut wasn't too bad. And NPS...well..yeah. It has its moments and is rather funky but not up there with his best.
