In December 1998, Prince sang a song live in concert in Utrecht in Holland called 2001. In it were the word "Osama Bin Laden get ready 2 bomb". He warned that America ought to watch out and said that he was leaving because he has to "get ready for the bombs"
Listening to a recording of this song is rather chilling, it even has fire sirens in the tune.
So this has led to some speculation

FOR:
-The choice of words 2001 for the bombing is quite uncanny seeing as this was 1998. Why not use 1999?
-He warned that America should watch out, but he was singing in Europe...logically u wouuld think he would say Europe is at risk too, unless he had knowledge
- Osama used planes as "bombs".
-The use of Fire Sirens etc is quite chilling.

AGAINST:
- Osama Bin Laden was well known back in 1998, for other terrorism but this has been blurred, so people often think he wasnt around until 2001. A look at many newspaper headlines back then shows he often featured on front pages.
- Osama didnt actually "bomb" America, he used planes to crash into skyscrapers.
-2001 is a year in folklore, as it is the first real year of the millennium. Ie the film 2001: A space odyssey helped to make this year famous.


My theory is that this is just an unfortunate and chilling coincidence but listening to it does send a chill down the spine. It must be remembered that Osama was news back then, but the juxtaposition of his name plus 2001 was a bit freaky. Also remember that he didnt technically "bomb" them, there were planes instead.

I remember this being discussed on the old Org right after 9/11/01 happened. I'll admit, it gave me shivers on that day. In retrospect, it was obviously a coincidence.

If Prince is such a great fortune teller, he should spend less time on world issues, and more time on predicting which songs and albums that will chart and give him critical success.

I mean he's said some other things like he didn't belive in the y2k bug (and sure enough, everyone was ok), but on the flip side he's said alot of things that have come back to bite him on the ass, so lets just call it even

What was more disturbing was when Biggie Smalls a.k.a "Notorious Big" made a comment of blowing up like the World Trade in his lyrics.

When Prince said this Osama had already urged action against America so it was pretty obvious something was going to happen. Lest we forget the Kenyan embassy attack or the US warship bombing...

Man, That's deep. I remember everything that happened 9/11. I couldn't help but cry..I had family, good thing they weren't hurt but i feel for all those who lost some one..
