The section of 'solo guitar' on the Rave DVD, before he begins the opening chords of 'Purple House'.

If you were there at the time, you were a very lucky individual!

guitar

Oh, and also the solo he did during 'whole lotta love' at the ONA shows. Not necessarily his best solo, but what a decent track to cover! His stage presence added loads to that ORIGINAL RRROOOCKER, which made the solo all the more climatic... cool

I hear you. But you cannot dismiss his version of 'Whole Lotta Love' at the London Apollo (Saturday 5th October 2002) too lightly. That powerful guitar solo at the end was truly inspired and imbued with tons of passion.

Pity there isn't a decent recording of it...

I agree with a lot of you all's choices - especially The Undertaker. But the guitar work on Bob George in particular is also very, very good. (I was disappointed that he didn't play guitar when performing Bob George on the Livesexy Tour.) I wish Prince had done a lot more guitar-driven tracks. He's a great guitar player, but I don't think the general public thinks of him as a guitar player. A pity that an album like Come that started out as a rock album ended up as just another R&B album.
